Easy walk into the village too, where thereâs shops and a couple of very good pubs too.
We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longerâŠ.

âWe spent one night at the Family Tree, and were very pleased with the stay. The staff members were friendly, the room was cozy and fresh. The breakfast was the best during our four days in the UK. It would have been nice to stay another day. â

Down points are that room was too hot with no means to cool it down and no spoons or stirrers to make the drinks.
Would deffo recommend but if your like me and get hot too quick then ask for a room with aircon.â
âIt was a good experience though it wasbjust for a night. Walking distance to heights if Abraham and town centre. Staff are so friendly and respectful. Even met someone from our hometown which was a bonus. â
âIdeal location for exploring the Peak District. Lovely quiet pretty little village. The room is above a fabulous cafe where the food was great and the staff were so helpful and informative, they gave us some great tips on where to visit. Highly recommend this place and the cafe.â
âIt's such a lovely spot and the room was spacious, super clean and with a view out to the lovely surrounding area. The bed was also very comfy and the pillow too, and this from someone who is princess and the pea with her pillows! I also got a really great rate for my one night stay.â
âWe had a wonderful stay at The View. The room was lovely, very spacious and overlooked the rolling hills, plus it was quiet. The staff were very friendly and attentive and breakfast was delicious and all cooked and prepared to order. We had one evening meal at the pub itself which again, we couldnât fault. There is so much to do around the area and we will definitely be going back. A true gem of a find!â
âThe staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: itâs a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyoneâs name a they will remember yours; itâs the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. âThe room was lovely (room 5) with a very comfy bed, decent enough facilities, but no complimentary biscuits, which is unusual, but understandable in these times.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, rushed off their feet as most places, but knew what they were doing.
