“First impression was not very favourable: a filthy carpet on the stairs leading to the second floor. It all looked more like a regular residential building than a hotel. The room however was fibe: big with a balcony. Fridge, micro and a stove. The tv was an oldy, one of those thick ones. The breakfast was the typical american: cereals, sweet bread, poor coffee and toast. Considering the rates in the area, it was ok I guess. Close to the beach and a mall. ”

“This is a great place for a couple to stay in Alameda. The cottage is beautifully appointed, quiet, and within easy walking distance of the Park Street shops. Safeway and Trader Joes are a five minute drive away. The adjoining gardens, which guests are free to use, are lovely. The cottage comes supplied with all the basics. We stayed there for 10 days and would definitely come again. John and Arthur were gracious hosts.”

“the place is beautiful. the bedrooms are big, clean place overall. the ambiance and energy it gave was 10/10. would go back again. when we were checking in we got kind of lost but nonetheless it was okay. the owner was kind enough to give us a bottle of wine for sunset. ”

This house worked extremely well with easy access to both UC Berkely as well as San Francisco. The West Oakland Bart station was a short walk away. The location of this place is very convenient as it is a 14 min drive from UC Berkeley. However, you won’t be able to walk from this place to Berkeley because you have to take a minor highway to get to the university.
