“What a great place! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend with some hiking and kayaking. The kayaking trip was canceled last minute due to weather, but we took the disappointment in stride, because we had this beautiful hidden gem to come back to. “This multi-level house/cabin works well for family and friends to gather on the island. Lots of room inside and outside for potluck dinners and game nights. The basement 2br apartment was especially nice for our son's family with a toddler. The kitchen is well equipped and has excellent appliances. Claire was a great host and responded immediately to all questions. There is excellent storage and lots of refrigerator and freezer space for your island stay, ”

“we had a really lovely time on Madeline Island. The house was just what we needed - modest, but with all the necessary amenities to cook a meal, relax and enjoy the water. The access across the road was easy and convenient. The kayaks were awesome! We had an early snag where the property had not been fully cleaned from the previous guests but Alan was on it immediately and offered compensation for the hassle which was much appreciated! Highly recommend!”

“Private beach was excellent. We had such a good time playing in the water. Housing was comfortable. Kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with what we needed. Problem was finding the place. The address cannot be seen from the road because covered in vegetation. Also the communication with owner and with Vrbo was frustrating and for the most part nonexistent. We had such a great time that the problems now seem insignificant. ”

“We have a long history of spending Labor Day weekend on the Island and have stayed at many of the notable VRBO’s here . This is an outstanding property and my personal favorite . My husband and I spent a total of 8 wonderful nights here with our 3 adult children , their spouses , and 4 of my 5 grandchildren ages 2-9 .We utilized all of the sleeping spaces with the exception of the reading nook. “Telemark Northwood lodging condominiums are great, the only reason I gave a couple of fours is because there was only one fan for the AC in the whole unit and it did a pretty good job, but when bedroom doors were closed at night, it was a little bit of an issue And the bathroom didn’t bent out as quickly as they should. But the whole place was clean and a great location and makes for a great stay at either the mountain bike, hiking trails or the Nordic skiing. Oh thanks No”

“I rated a 3 for the listing as it should have a better description to find the house. It's on a 'two track' through woods with a fire number that is nailed up on a tree with other fire numbers.”

“The cabin was as described the owners were so friendly and easy check in it was nice having an on site boat launch and a doc we could leave the boat in the water it was a nice little place for a fun family getaway for the weekend. Can’t wait to come back!”

“Peaceful, beautiful property, nice walking path, lots to explore. We saw deer, squirrels, woodpeckers, birds, beaver/muskrat, and some fish. Stories & s'mores around the firepit each night. Fished by boat and canoe. Also kayaked. Great kitchen area and outdoor grill. Had foosball champion competition, played games, watched movies, went to Mercer for fish fry, explored by boat and on foot. Great weather, no mosquitos till last night of stay. Lots of family bonding.”

“Room was very clean and tidy. It is only a mile or 2 outside of Bayfield. The units are private in the woods but are close to the highway so you do hear a light bit of traffic. There is a fan in the room and we travel with a sleep noise maker so was not an issue. Price is reasonable for the area and I would stay hear again.”

“The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. The host left a lot of helpful info about shopping, dining, hiking, etc. The weather was not the best and we could not enjoy the lake, but the scenery is beautiful. The only issue we had was though it is "pet friendly" there are a lot of rules that were a little restrictive when it comes to pets. ”

“Location was great. Fantastic walking trails. Only had one hair dryer and night light for 2 bed/2 bath chalet. We had to ask for iron and ironing board which was a listed amenity, but owners brought one to us very quickly. An alarm started beeping in the middle of the night. It took us 2 hours to find and turn off the carbon monoxide monitor. Owners should proactively replace batteries in alarms on a regular basis to avoid this inconvenience for their guests.”

“We rented this for a family long weekend. There were 6 adults and 4 kids. The lake is a little weedy but the water is clear and the kids loved fishing off of the deck. We used the kayaks provided and enjoyed the lake immensely. We didn't see another boat the whole time we were there. The weather was a little cool so we didn't get to use the beautiful screen porch as much as we hoped. We loved the cabin. ”

“We booked at the last minute due to wanting to avoid camping in bad weather. Host contacted us quickly and condo was clean and ready for us. It was a great location for exploring the Bayfield area and had everything we needed. ”
