“The property manager contacted us as expected and check in was easy. Inside and outside, the home was nothing as advertised. Nails sticking out of the walls, dishwasher not attached so it falls out when you pull out the rack; old cars, broken chairs, lawnmowers, old pool, old jacuzzi, a winebego, a boat and toilet seat all strewn around the yard. “Went to check-in. Didn't have my reservations. Waited 50 minutes before the error was rectified. Turned out main office at Kings Plantation never sent my reservation to the resort. The resort had to message someone due to the fact the main office only is open until 5:00. I had reserved a cottage. This was not a cottage it was more like a duplex. We could here the people next door. The stayed up late and got up early. So we had prolems sleeping. Pool was nice.”

“We had a good stay overall. This is a home at the end of an inlet with a small pier facing the creek. It had a pretty backyard. It is close to other homes but that was okay for us, although some more window treatments in the kitchen and facing the back would be a good option. “Key Cottage was charming and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were standout fabulous - modern, great water pressure, and spacious. The house is well stocked with just about anything you can imagine needing. We loved the location, on a quiet corner in the cute village of Irvington with so much to walk to and do. The only problem we had was getting into the lockbox when we arrived, but they arranged for someone to run down and help us out. ”

“Great location & wonderful amenities! You can’t beat the beauty of the river’s view and the woods that surround the property. We stayed with our two young sons and they loved playing outside, the arcade games, and the dock. The only draw back for families is not having an internal staircase, but it wasn’t too much of a problem for us. This is definitely more for a rustic getaway rather than a luxurious stay. It worked very well for our family of boys. ”

“We have stayed here many times, so it has become a home away from home. We have family in the area, and love staying here! The location in historic Yorktown is perfect. We can walk to the shops and restaurants, and the battle fields. We love going to Mobjack Coffee Roasters. The cottage is always clean, and the owners are very responsive to any questions. ”
