“Nice, peaceful farmhouse with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close to vineyards and quaint villages with great restaurants, however the best thing about it is its proximity to the Old Rag Mountain trailhead. If you're planning to do that hike, this home is just a short walk to the trailhead so you won't have to worry about the parking issues, and after the hike, the hot tub on the home's deck is heavenly! Wonderful place for a wonderful get away!”

“The location is generally in the middle of nowhere. But oddly enough, my friend and I came down to visit some friends we know who live in Locust Grove. It was a great trip. House was fantastic and the location was perfect right on the water. No issues with check-in. Great hosts. Great location and place.”

“SPACIOUS AND COZY There were 2 king size beds, 4 sets of bunk beds, and a very comfy extra large couch. LOCATION Beautiful area. Lots of horse and cows within eye sight of the house. Incredible starlight night sky. Check-in went smooth, kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the place was clean. Lots of small touches that the host put into providing an amazing experience for us. ”

“We had a wedding at a local winery and this was the perfect venue for our group. Had a great time. The host was incredibly accommodating and was flexible with check in so we could have time to get ready. Only thing is the ladies wished there was a full length mirror for getting ready. Otherwise no complaints. ”

“Perfect location and space for a long weekend getaway! Visiting the area for an event at UVA, but decided to stay outside of the city to better explore the area. This was a perfect spot and amazing host to help us with dinner and recreation recommendations… so good!!! The “suite” was very private and everything we needed. We loved the patio with a beautiful view of the countryside. Thank you for offering your space for our little getaway weekend!”

“We loved our stay at Fern Cottage! We stayed-my husband and I, along with our five children. Everything was clean, there was room for everyone, a great set up downstairs for the kids to play in, and the fire pit was a fun feature to use at night. The only suggestion I would make is to add more pans, mixing bowls and utensils -such as an ice cream scoop ! We would absolutely recommend this place and be eager to stay here again if we are in the area! Thank you, Holly!”
