“We were looking for a place to camp that was secluded and peaceful and that is exactly what we got! The tree house is very well built and was the perfect place to sleep at night. There was a spot with a large fire pit next to the river with a good sized clearing that we hung out and played games in. We opted to get some kayaks and went up and down the river. “Our family gathering included 19 adults and 8 children ages 5 & under. Our parents once had a home on Lake Jackson, so this was a trip of memories for all of us. This home provided ample gathering space inside, and the pool proved a great place for outside gathering. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. “We had such a wonderful time at Shepherd’s Lodge. We didn’t have nearly enough time to spend there, as we had a wedding to attend, but what time we had was exceptional! The home is such a welcoming place with a big covered area in front with rocking chairs that always stays so cool, and a huge deck that wraps around the side and the entire back of the house with plenty of seating. “Could not contact the property owner for check-in details. Property was deserted upon arrival. Both the phone number and emails listed were incorrect. Conditions seemed unsafe to enter and owner/manager was not available.”

“This house has a beautiful lake view. Spacious dock and lovely back porch. The beds were very comfortable. I might have missed it, but i didn't see in the description that it was 2 story. Overall, we had a very nice stay and hope to return. I would have given it 4 1/2 stars .”

“The house matched the description perfectly, and we were particularly impressed by the inspiring artwork throughout. There was ample space, including multiple bathrooms, which added to our comfort. We spent a lot of time enjoying the back porch area, which became a favorite gathering spot. Additionally, the location was convenient, with shopping and dining options nearby. The neighborhood was tranquil, and we found the neighbors to be welcoming and friendly.”
