“We had a great stay at Sunset Inn and it was the perfect welcome to Alberta! The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The bed was very comfortable, the A/C blew nice and cold (perfect after a hot travel day), and the room was spotlessly clean with fresh carpet and no weird smells at all. “Not much, service is great.”

“The outside of the hotel needs some maintenance. The hotel sign light is burnt out (giving a horror movie feel). The planters outside are empty and falling over. That being said, the room was clean and housekeeping did a very good job. We stayed for 3 nights. Everything was very quiet (other than a bit of noisy highway traffic) There is a very big bump turning into the property. Nice big parking stalls outside of the hotel though, so that was nice. “Staff are lovely. Check in and out very efficient. Decent basic rooms. Whole place could use some basic maintenance and touch ups for example the bathroom fans wouldn't be so loud (and would save y'all money on your power bill) if you'd clean them! It served its purpose, place to sleep and shower while in town for a wedding. We found it quiet.”

“Room stunk like mildew and mold. AC didn’t work, while looking at it found mold all over the AC unit and filthy. Very gross hotel. Staff looked to not care either, place was run down and not pleasant”

“Our room was clean and staff at the front desk was as helpful as she could and friendly. However the room’s wifi never worked even after rebooting and thus the tv in the room never worked either. The router box was hanging off its post, there was no carafe nor coffee for the coffee maker. The hot water handle had fallen apart before we got there so we couldn’t use the shower. The light in the main continued to flicker even when off . The room really could do with a paint refresh. Every time...

From the photos, we thought we were getting a chalet, but when you book a queen bed room, you're staying at the motel portion. The pictures had no indication that this was a motel, and we were there for our 2 year anniversary and were disappointed when we didn't stay in what we expected. “Not too much to choose from in the small town of Fort MacLeod. Red Coat Inn certainly seemed the better of choices. A bit dated and a tad rundown it was clean and convenient. Office were helpful and on-site parking was free. The Fort is well worth a visit.”

“I never write reviews, but this is crazy and important: At 4am, the front desk clerk gave my room number to an intoxicated man who walked in looking for my 6 year old son. WHAT?! No one asked my permission or called me. They just took this man's word that he just wanted to leave something by my door. He did not. He banged on the door, woke us up, and could easily have forced his way into the room. Now, in the end, we were safe. But this is so wildly unsafe and completely unacceptable. NEVER...
