Welcome to “On the Rocks” – your idyllic seasonal retreat offering panoramic ocean views stretching as far as the eye can see from the rugged coastline of King Phillips Trail in East Boothbay, Maine.

This seaside cottage is a truly magical place where the forest, sea, and sky all meet to sooth the soul. Imagine waking up to the peaceful sounds of waves crashing against the rocks, with breathtaking vistas greeting you from every angle. Have your coffee on the deck and watch as lobstermen collect their traps and seals fish for their breakfast. When evening comes, indulge in the magic of a beautiful sunset with your favorite refreshment in hand.

Newly renovated, this rustic-chic home features a shiplap interior and hand-picked furnishings chosen by an interior designer to create an immersive, coastal, quintessentially Maine experience. The cozy kitchen is stocked with essential dishes, glasses, and cookware (though sans dishwasher). The cottage is equipped with baseboard heating, ensuring your comfort during cooler evenings. The first bedroom features a plush queen bed, while the second offers a comfy full bed. Both bedrooms are outfitted with ceiling fans to keep you cool on warmer nights. A shared bathroom features a convenient 3/4 shower, completing the accommodations.

This gem of a cottage is available for seasonal rentals from Friday to Friday, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquility and beauty of coastal living. Parking for two vehicles ensures convenience, while a scenic walking path, illuminated with charming lighting, leads you down three flights of stairs to your private sanctuary.

Please note that this property is not well suited for those will mobility challenges. Boothbay Harbor is a short 10-minute drive.

To ensure peace of mind during your stay, we offer two options for damage protection: a small, one-time non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver (our most convenient and guest-preferred option) or a fully refundable Security Deposit, returned after your stay if no damage is reported. Amazing!

Please don't think about a motel or a hotel, or another rental. Stay here! Where else can you see and hear the ocean from your bed. And, walk out onto the deck and be virtually suspended over it, feet from the waves. That was the the amazing part of this little cottage. It was also -clean as a whistle and it had everything you could want. Beautiful linens and very comfortable beds, and a well appointed kitchen, though we didn't use it. A lovely treasure. I am so grateful to have stayed here and to have gotten my up close "hit" of the seashore! It is exactly as advertised. Thank you!

The cottage is absolutely charming and the views are simply astonishing! So beautiful and right on the water. Time on the lovely deck together for relaxing and meals was our favorite thing. We thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful and beautiful stay here and highly recommend!

Return stay

We stayed in this cabin on our very first trip to Maine in 2019, and we returned this year with our son. The cabin is rustic but well-curated, it's cozy and quiet...and the view is unbeatable. We had a challenge with the WiFi-no access for the first 24 hours. Wendy and her team were extremely responsive and worked to get a technician out quickly. This normally wouldn't be a problem (who comes to Maine to stare at a screen?!), but given the lack of cell service in the house, it made me a bit uneasy to have no real form of communication in an emergency. Ultimately, no big deal in the grand scheme and like I said-the team worked very quickly to resolve. I highly recommend walks along the King Phillips Trail loop-beautiful views, and really lovely people along the way. Thanks for a great stay!
