“Vi bodde en vecka i månadsskiftet juni/juli i Casa Metata precis ovanför Castiglione di Garfagnana. Husägaren Gabriele och hans trevliga familj har här skapat ett mycket charmigt, rätt nybyggt och väl fungerande hus med fullt utrustat kök. Jättefin terrass med pool och utedusch med sol hela dagen och utsikt över byarna nere i dalen och baksidan av Cararabergen. Man tar sig snabbt och lätt till de närliggande byarna för att handla eller gå på restaurang. För egen matlagning var det stora uteköket...

“This stay was idyllic and everything that was promised. Privacy, serenity and beautiful surroundings. Loads to do in the area and off the beaten track enough to have a sanctuary from tourism. Susan was the hostess with the mostess. Always there for suggestions, but never intruding. “The place was just as good as we hoped. Lovely outsides and an amazing view over the Apuan Alps and the valley below. Great pool area. 30-40 minutes to beautiful hikes in the mountains and only roughly 1 hour to the ocean and beaches. The host is also very hospitable and helpful. “The cottage is wonderful for getting away from it all. Comfy bed, wifi, brilliant host, a varied selection of wildlife and animals! The location is really off the beaten track, the last road to the parking is very narrow with tight bends. We walked down the ancient path to the medieval bridge a couple of times, steep but great views. Very peaceful place, thoroughly recommended.”

“Lovely old mountain house with great pizza oven and stone built BBQ. The gardens are great and the pool was amazing. THAT VIEW!! you feel like you are swimming in the mountains. We even saw fire flies at night. ”
