“My husband and I stayed at the cottage for my birthday and we had an amazing time. The view is hands down the best part. The hot tub is so relaxing and the privacy is perfect. We listened to the waves and birds as we enjoyed the deck area. We will probably bring our own pillows next time because these were quite flat, but nothing to stop me from coming back!”

“The property was more remote than we anticipated. If you are looking for a true getaway, this is your spot. The local Elk grocery & mercantile store clerks were wonderful and full of ideas to fill our time. We took a trip to Mendocino and Fort Bragg along the beautiful coast. The house was so cozy, clean & charming. We will for sure return”

“There are some inaccuracies in the listing which we pointed out to the host, but it appears after more than a week the listing hasn't been updated. The listing says check in is at 3:00, but didn't received check in instructions until after 5:00. There is an unexpected step down between the main area and the kitchen (which you must go through to get to the bathroom). The building was built on a slab, probably a garage conversion, and sits nearly at ground level. There were numerous earwigs...

Sitting on the patio after enjoying one of the nearby hikes, having a glass of wine looking out over the vineyards and the mountains was amazing. Our hosts were just as amazing as the views. “Location is the highlight of this Gualala studio. The stairs faded quickly into the spectacular views. This is a special retreat from the ordinary. Miren is a fantastic host, her knowledge of the area, attention to detail & warm hospitality all a highlight of our stay. We spent 3 nights & explored nearby, but the Anchor Bay beach below this studio makes this location a place of pure contentment, no need to roam. We hope to return.”
