“The VRBO description truly doesn’t do this place justice. To our pleasant surprise, the property felt wonderfully private and secluded from any nearby neighbors. It was spotless, cozy, and immediately welcoming. The view from the bedroom window was stunning, framed perfectly by the vibrant foliage beyond. “Fair warning to all travelers, screen shot the instructions to get into the cottage before you leave Pāhoa as the reception is spotty at best. I had to drive all the way back to Pahoa to get the information onto my phone. Cottage is quaint and small but delivers what was Expected. Clean, ac worked quite well, all the amenities you Would need. Beach across the way is an optional clothing beach so be aware if you have kids lol. It’s a taste of actually Hawaii living and not at a resort. Sofa...

“The beach is just across the street and very beautiful. It’s a walk down a cliff side to get to it. It’s a short, safe and worn climb down. This lodging is in a very quiet location. When we wanted to visit the sites the drives took 45-60 minutes away. That wasn’t a big issue but just be aware of that. Also, go grocery shopping before you check in. There’s a Foodland between the airport and the lodging. There’s a sweet patio where we’d eat and play games each evening. Two Spinner dolphins...

"Ambitionen att vara ett hållbart boende är god, men det kan inte vara lätt när till exempel återvinning knappt existerar på ön. Men ett gemytligt hotell med trevlig personal. Rummet som låg intill poolområdet var ganska litet och mörkt, men eftersom det fanns flera olika platser med stolar/fåtöljer och bord gjorde det inte så mycket. Dessutom var rummet förhållandevis svalt och sängarna var bekväma. Det finns inte jättemånga restauranger på gångavstånd. Att promenera till centrum tar sin lilla tid och är en tråkig väg (gå inte längs havet, ett staket gör det omöjligt att ta sig över till affärer och restauranger). Hotellet ligger perfekt om man vill ta sig nationalparken med vulkanerna. Det tar 40-45 minuter att köra dit och om man ger sig iväg någorlunda tidigt hinner man få en p-plats även vid de mindre parkeringarna innan kaoset drar igång."
