Great little house

Had my company retreat at this house. Was a great little set up. Pool was nice and house was very clean. Only issue was there were no trash bags and kitchen supplies are limited. But that’s minimal. Owners were very responsive and polite. Would definitely stay here again.

Hospitable Hosts

Location was perfect for our trip! The host was super accommodating and responsive!! Check-in was a breeze. The property is more dated than you can tell in the photos. There was no extra toilet paper or paper towels but the host quickly had those delivered for us. There are ample dishes and utensils, however be sure to pack your own seasonings (salt and pepper), coffee supplies (they provide coffee and filters), and a very small coffee maker that makes approximately 3 cups of coffee). We had ample towels, wash cloths and blankets which is always nice to decrease laundry loads! The queen bedroom, which is actually a partially enclosed garage) was very warm; there are 2 portable fans in there which helped but it didn’t seem to be cooled by the central unit. The pool slide is out of order, as well as the pool water being very cloudy and green; the host is aware and technicians came out to check on it but the pool and slide were the main reason we booked this home. Again, Celine and Jim were incredibly hospitable and responsive and despite these minor inconveniences we enjoyed our time here.

Our Comfort Was Not a Priority

Owner, Jim, does NOT provide for customers' comfort. There was flooding the weekend we stayed. Houses lost power. It came back on at 3 AM during our first night. I don't fault Jim for that. However, when the power came on the AC did not work. Jim (text) said to flip the circuit breaker, reset the thermostat, etc. 2 hrs later, he finally called a handyman who also couldn't fix it. By then it was almost 9 PM. I had been at my mother's funeral all day and had an appointment at 9 AM an hour away the next morning. Jim wanted to send an electrician over that night. I told him I needed to sleep and I wanted a window AC unit. Jim said he didn't have a portable unit. It was a humid 79 degrees in the house. There was a window AC unit in the casita right out back that he could have let us use! Jim didn't offer to bring over more fans or a swamp cooler or anything to provide for our comfort. Our children were in the bunk room, which has NO ceiling fan. They had to sleep on the couch, where there was a ceiling fan. Jim did not contact us at all the next day to solve to send an electrician or to provide a portable AC unit or fans. Nothing. The house was 79+ degrees the entire time. When we said we wanted a discount, Jim blamed us for not letting the electrician come in to fix the unknown problem "in the wall" at 9 PM until who knows when. Another con: The master bath & bedroom have no separation; there is no vent, leaving odors to permeate the entire room. No light in the Master shower.
