“We had a great stay at this 100-year-old Japanese home. The mix of traditional architecture and modern updates was impressive, and the house was clean, comfortable, and easy to settle into. Tadao, the host was very responsive and made communication a pleasure. We only wished we had booked a longer stay. Would definitely recommend a relaxing stay directly across the rd from the beach. Beautiful place and town”

“The staff were very nice. Bushi-san was busy on my day of arrival (they have a lot of activities in Kamakura), but they left me a welcome packet with all the information. I met Bushi-san the morning after for breakfast. I also got to meet Yoko-san. She was very kind. The guesthouse is small, and the building is old and charming. I slept on a futon in a room equipped with tatamimats and traditional screen doors. It was amazing to sleep in a traditional room. The futon is perhaps on the thinner...

“Akitaya is always a great stay. I’ve stayed here both times I’ve been to Kamakura and I plan to stay here again when I return! The rooms are a traditional Japanese style which I think everyone should experience! The hotel is conveniently placed next to Koshigoe station which makes it really easy to get around. They even give you free tea in the room! The staff are always super friendly and even did my laundry for me. I definitely recommend this place!”

“Vi fick strömavbrott två första nätterna, och hade cirka 10° på rummet på morgonen, men han som städade rummen var fantastisk och hjälpte oss prata med managern. Väldigt trevligt rum och bra faciliteter! ”

“A nice little guest house, with everything you need for a few nights of stay: A comfy bed, toilet and a shower (and a coin laundry). Allthough all anemities are shared with others, it was never crowded, so you can easily do what you need to do in your own time. The staff was also helpful with anything I needed. Hot tip: Bring your ear plugs, as there are som reccuring noices outside (and a screaming child from within). A good nice stay overall.”
