Family Ski Trip
There was plenty of room for family to eat, sleep and play games. We are a skiing family and it was so close to the resort.and not to far to take little's home when they were done with half day. It wasn't to far to enjoy a night soaking at Lava. Great trip!!

Started out rough but overall a good experience
Thing’s happened when we first arrived. The situation was bad from the beginning but after we found out the owner was in an accident the day before then we switched our minds from frustration to understanding. This was a good home and a big enough home for a large group. Turkeys and ducks were fun for the kids. Lots of pros. The only negative this was no WiFi and that the dish for tv didn’t work upstairs for the wind down times. Overall a good experience.

Great place for large family gatherings!
We started here too celebrate my dad's 60th birthday and it was great! Everyone had their own rooms and there was plenty of space to spread out and not feel like everyone was on top of each other. The master bed was a surprise! We've never seen a bed that big! The theme song was "why don't you just meet me in the middle" 😂 The owner was great to work with and very responsive when we realized we were missing some sheets for one of the extra beds. When he's told us there were turkeys on the property we could feed, we didn't realize there were that many! So fun to see them running around the yard! A few little quirks about the house, the hot water had a sulphur smell to it, but overall a great place to stay and enjoy some really good family time! No Internet, but we were there to hang out anyway so it was great!

Family friendly
This location was perfect for our family of grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren. The home is set-up for this type of arrangement beautifully. Kitchen/dining is amazing and beautiful. The yard is relaxing and beautiful. Grandkids want us all to live there forever.

Great Family Reunion!
We absolutely loved staying at this amazing house! There was room for all 27 of us. Our grandkids loved playing in the beautiful yard and feeding the ducks and fish. Will certainly book this again in the future!

Amazing place for large family get-togethers

Lots of room. The littles loved the ducks and the play area. Owner was very responsive. I would suggest to have AC running well before guests arrive. The first night, my family that slept in two of the bedrooms were so warm, it was hard to sleep. And yes they had the provided fans running. As long as the master bedroom was set at 68, the rooms upstairs were nice. No one wanted to sleep in the basement and fortunately we didn't really need it. That area could use an upgrade. Found mouse droppings in the kitchen cabinets. Probably need to deep clean the kitchen. It was also difficult to get a hot shower, no matter how we spaced them out. Overall, it wasn't bad.

Nice Family size place
This place is great size for big family gatherings. Beautiful yard and surroundings. Plenty of sleeping room and places to hang out and enjoy those you are with. Great proximity to Pocatello and not too far from Lava Hot Springs. It has Dish network for TV but we never even turned the TV's on. I would suggest bringing your camping chairs because there is not much seating on the decks but what a great place, especially this time of year. So green and beautiful. Our family has it on the list to return to.

The property was private and spacious, we had ample room for yard games and the kids especially enjoyed feeding the ducks at the pond. I set up a slip-n-slide on the downward slope of the yard which was perfect for the kids to have fun sliding down to the bottom of the slide. Some of the things in the home were not working and needed to be repaired, fridge ice maker and master bedroom tub. The basement bedrooms probably should be remodeled. My daughters wouldn't use them but the boys were ok sleeping there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and the close proximity to Lava Hot Springs made for a short drive. There was plenty of room to spread out and find your own private space. Everyone enjoyed the message chair. This property is great for family gatherings. I would stay here again.

Had a fun stay here. The kids loved the time in the sanctuary, and the home was large enough for all of us. As mentioned previously, this property is at a good price, but there is a per person charge for each in your party over 13. Karl Malone bed was.. special.

Amazing experience
Went for a basketball tournament and the house was perfect for our kiddos and their parents to have ample space and enjoy each others company. Eating areas were perfect. Wonderful Place to Stay
Super fun place to stay for large family gatherings. Bedrooms were clean, I believe 13 total beds. The massage chair was super fun! Turkeys and deer everywhere. Fun to feed the ducks in the pond. Kitchen, bar, and dining room was super spacious. Master bedroom was bigger than anything I've ever stayed in. The master bed was like three times the size of a king bed! Nothing negative to say. Close enough to enjoy Lava.

Our family enjoyed this property immensely! The owner worked with us to provide enough space for our trailers for the overflow family members. Kitchen provided enough pots/pans and other kitchen needs. Huge pantry, long bar with stools in the kitchen area, all appliances functioned well, enough tables for seating inside and beautiful yard for kids to play outside. Peaceful setting
Beautiful area with nice views. The host arranged for us to use the sanctuary area for archery and ax throwing. We also used the fire pit and it was very relaxing. The house was spacious but don’t plan on using the basement as they have had ongoing problems with the plumbing and the drain down there.Two of the bathrooms were out of order. We had 20 people and we all had beds. I would not recommend having more than 30 in this house. Also, be aware there is a per person fee on top of the nightly fee that was not disclosed. Just showed up on the receipt.

We Would Come Again / Fantastic Family Fun
We have a large family and it was a wonderful property for us!! We have 5 children with spouses and 13 grandchildren and every family had their own bedroom. The house and yard is so spacious and comfortable. Our grandchildren loved feeding the ducks up by the pond. The swingset was fun for the grandchildren and the yard was great for playing games. The location is close to Lava Hot Springs and Pocatello, yet isolated from any close neighbors. The owner, Joel, was great to work with. We have already referred other family and friends, who will look into staying there.

Family Reunion
This was an incredible place for our family. We were all together for the first time in 3 years. The property offered everything we needed and more. We enjoyed hiking, the hot springs, and mostly just hanging around the fire pit. The yard was great for tag, fort building, and hide and seek. The grandchildren loved feeding the ducks and gobbling at the turkeys. Joel is the best host ever, so accommodating.

This is our second visit at the Lava Family Inn, We came in the summer last year and then in February this year. We loved the ski resort that is a short distance away. The grandchildren loved playing games and just spending precious time together. This is the perfect baxkdrop for adventures.

We had a great Christmas with our family at the Lava Inn. It is a beautiful property and great space for our family. We especially loved feeding the ducks!! The only thing that could be better would be updating the basement rooms and bathroom.

Pest Infestation
Our first night we found an infestation of bed bugs in two rooms upstairs. Two couples had to sleep downstairs on the floor. The next morning we had to go out of our way to buy air mattresses and blankets. We informed the owner, and he basically blamed us for the bed bugs. He never gave me a refund for the two rooms. Two months before our check in he called and told me to change the amount of people of who were going. Originally there were 45 people, I asked for a request change to 20 People. He never accepted the request and I ended up getting charged more than expected. Also I would like to add that you have no privacy, he stays in a camper right next to the house to keep an eye on you. The second day he asked to go get something from the garage, and then apparently he had forgotten something so he had to go back, and while there he kept insisting to check out the rooms with bed bugs. I told him no because we have all of our stuff laying out and it’s just okay with the owner constantly wanting to go in the house while guests are staying. Definitely won’t be renting here again and I don’t recommend anyone coming here.

As a home owner that has done short term rentals even before it became popular since early 2011, a review like this is very concerning and troubling. I want everyone assured that just as a precaution, we brought in professionals to assess the house, treat the house as if there was a bug issue. The pest control specialists found no evidence of infestation. After that treatment we had the carpets professionally steam cleaned. "In addition, we have added further natural precautions following each guest stay. Please know that your health and well being are of utmost importance to us." I hope that you take the time to look at over a hundred plus reviews, as well as hundreds of others on other listings and site's, that we try our best to have the cleanest properties possible, and that you have a unique positive experience with you and your loved ones.

Fun Family Getaway Location
Shady yard where we played outdoor games, plenty of table space for eating and indoor games. We also enjoyed the activities at the Sanctuary. Owner was easy to work with. Only negative thought is the downstairs bathroom needs some attention, and I am not sure where the number advertised for would be able to comfortably sleep. We had a good time.
