“Our stay was fantastic, the property was easy to get to, it was massive on the inside great for family & such lush soft beds it made it hard to get up the next day. The couches were so lovely and clean with nice cushions everything looked lovely. A accommodation”

“Everything about this property makes you feel calm and relaxed. A perfect spot for a getaway. The views are amazing, it is warm & cosy & has a lovely indoor/outdoor flow. Then to top it off....a fabulous spa pool to unwind in. The communication from our host Brad was exceptional. We will certainly be recommending Firkin's Retreat to friends & family.”

"Nice clean hotel with great views and friendly staff. We had dinner at the restaurant but unfortunately it was not for us - everything was sickeningly sweet and completely unsalted. I’ve come to realize that salt is not much used in new zealand but this was the worst so far, unsalted fish drenched in sweet chili sauce. Unless you are a kiwi used to this kind of seasoning I recommend you dine elsewhere."
