“Your description didn’t say the bathrooms were shared and shower on the 1st foot and no elevator and we were on t by e 3rd floor and I hurt my knee. Could not shower the night we traveled 24 hours on planes and trains. Could not make it up And down on my own. Had to go stay at a new hotel and pay more money ”

“Hemtrevligt. ( små rum men fungerar utmärkt. Bra att vika ihop sin futon dagtid så blir det bra med plats). Mycket vänlig o servicevänlig personal. Fin jacuzzi med god tillgänglighet ( bokar tid, lista vid receptionen, ingår i rumspriset). Japansk frukost rekommenderas. . Lugnt område. Nära till metro ( två stationer från Ueno station).”

“When we arrived, the host was super friendly, accommodating and patient. We came in December and the unit was quite cold and we tried to adjust. The bathrooms are shared, the shower was not but there was 2 shared showers, super cold area and floor (don’t think it was heated). Price, area, convenience, local eats very good. Be prepared for very little English. Thank you for hosting us , I would stay again.”

“The Toe library is amazing. It’s in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to all forms of transportation. The hotel is very clean and up to date. Yoshi is great host and is very easy to communicate with. He goes out of his way to help you and has lots of information about Tokyo and other cities in Japan. Thank you Yoshi for making our stay in Tokyo amazing. ”

“Communication was wonderful and the property was more than promised. As US residents and first time visitors to Japan, it took a little time to understand the functions of the space. After a couple of hours all became crystal clear. We cooked in all evening meals, the kitchen is very comfortable and stocked abundantly with utensils and bar ware. Good neighborhood shopping within walking distance as well as metro station. We spent 5 days here and ventured out by rail every day.”

“In a single phrase: absolutely "no frills", but as a solo-traveler this place gets the job done. The location is excellent, but the bare-bones nature of the property makes it hard to rate it higher than 3 stars. The best part about the room itself was the temperature control. Of the several other hotels I stayed at during my travels, this was the only one that let me dial it down / cool the room for extra comfortable sleeping--which gives it extra bonus points. ”
