“Amazing place, super clean and I think newly renovated. When i arrived I had a bit of a fever that grew pretty high, and the landlord nursed me back to health and brought me water and food everyday!”

“Spititual and interesring trip where we learned a lot about the specific Kukai buddhist religion, went on the cementary night tour and visited a lot of the temples. We joined the morning and afternoon meditations and everything was great - only the western turists were being unpolite and disrespectful in these ceremonies. The munks who are in charge of the whole hotel are really nice and helpful. Food was delicious! ”

“The guest host was friendly and easy to talk to! The breakfast was one of the best meals I had while traveling in Japan, and all the instructions were clear. The guesthouse is well-maintained and the location is also convenient (not far from the train station). Each guest gets a separate bedroom, with everything you could ask for in it. “lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. I got mine by having a nice lady in the Kyoto railway station tourist office call the owner/manager, who promptly emailed instructions. The front “lobby” and hallway are unheated. There is no breakfast buffet, no vending machines, none...

“The hotel is very close to ferry and bus terminal (5-7 min) which is very convenient in case one have booked a tour starting from there. Personal is very helpful. The hotel title outside shows “Guest house” followed by Japanese characters (nothing mentions “Orihime” ) which could be confusing for not Japanese speakers. Likely the receptionist was outside and could confirm that I am at the right place.”

“Very nice private onsen. Very peaceful at night. Offers transport from a few location only. Kowakien and Gora station. Small and intimate establishment. Super good food!”
