Shugafoot Oceanfront

  • Shugafoot, artighet av min sen mormor som gick iväg i år på 95. Hon skulle kalla alla oss barnbarn Shugafoot.

    Shugafoot är en stuga vid havet. Några steg ner till stranden. Underbara soluppgångar, titta på delfinerna. Bra läge! 3 sovrum och 2 badrum. Master har en drottning, 2: a sovrummet är en full och 3: e sovrummet har enkelsängar. Alla rum har fantastisk utsikt över stranden och havet.

    Öppet koncept kök och vardagsrum med skjutreglage till en stor täckt veranda och solterrass med fantastisk utsikt.

Shugafoot was perfect for a relaxing week at the beach. Mark was an exceptional host and responded quickly to all questions. The cottage was clean and very comfortable for bringing a pet. The evenings were quiet and the location was convenient to food and shopping.

Great Location

I can't say enough about this place, we have stayed here a couple time and hope to stay again in the future. Great dog friendly house and perfect location for a weekend away, not far from the bridge and right on the beach. The house was clean and the kitchen pretty well stocked with everything we needed.

Great winter stay at the beach

The house was just the right size for our family (and could have fit a few more) the location was excellent, and we loved watching dolphins from the front porch. Great sunsets and beautiful stargazing. The host was also very attentive (thank you, Mark!). We would definitely come again.

Beautiful view

Location could not be beat. Steps from the ocean and protected by a substantial dune. Hearing the waves as we fell asleep in the comfortable king bed was a plus. Sadly the place needs updating to be clean enough for us to come back.

Kitty Hawk Vacay!

We had a wonderful stay at Shugafoot. Right on the beach is a huge priority for us, and this cottage does not disappoint. Our doggies loved the fenced in deck.

Great deck and nice kitchen

Quiet and private area. Close to several restaurants and grocery stores. Loved the deck. Kitchen was very nice and well equipped. Little rough around the edges but nice place to spend the week.

Love the beach, property nice.

Other the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby causing a trip to be wet, the trip went well. This is our fifth time to the Outer Banks and we love this part of America. The house was very nice, just needs a little updating and refining.

Relaxed and happy

That’s how we felt, relaxed and happy staying at Shugafoot. The views are beautiful and the beach is right over the dune. Coming back from the beach we appreciated the outdoor shower to rinse off. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc.. The King bed was comfortable as well as the queen. We loved the huge deck to have coffee in the morning and later wine. Overall the place was great!

Snowed in!

Everything was clean and organized. Sheets and towels provided which is not common! Rooms were a great size and everything was pretty kid friendly. I must mention the book! The Little Blue Cottage book was such a hit that we have already found it on Amazon! ordering when we get home.

Place was in a great location on the beach. Ocean view from deck is not as pictured. See pics from our stay. House is a bit tired looking despite some updates. Be aware that you have to buy supplies like trash bags, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener and everything for cooking including basic spices. Beds aren’t made up on arrival but linens are provided. Maybe this is all standard for this area but not typical of other stays at vacation re talks, so be aware. Die the cost and view, we didn’t think this was a good value.

2023 Kitty Hawk Vacation

Each year our family rents a house in different location along the Outer Banks. This year we chose Kitty Hawk. We loved the beach front property and convenient walk to the beach. The deck view was fabulous. Our favorite part is that the place was pet friendly and equipped with a doggie gate on the deck. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Right on the beach!

The surf and the breeze. It was great. Spent most of our time on the deck watching the waves come in. We never even took our beach chairs over the dune. Didn’t need to we were so close on the deck. Nice kitchen. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Even better than we expected

The host was friendly, great communication and help. The property is ON the beach, just a dune and there it is. The views from nearly all the rooms in the house are mesmerizing. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped, and the new beds are spacious and comfortable. Excellent wi-fi and cable. Plenty of parking. Our Havanese, Dickens, was also comfortable, and loved the beach. Recommend the Black Pelican and Hurricane Mo's. Touring the Wright Memorial, including climbing Kill Devil Hill, is a must. We had a great time, and found it to be a good value.

Location Location Location

Our two sons daughter in law and 2 year old grandson and three dogs stayed a week and could not be more happy. The views are the BEST, place is beautiful. Full kitchen, plenty of rooms and bathrooms the deck is plenty big and can be locked with gate to keep baby and dogs from escaping. Dolphins and whales and sunsets did not disappoint. Close to nightlife and restaurants and yet far enough you wouldn't know they were there. Fast responses for small questions from Mark. Highly recommend and hope to stay again.

Great Location

Steps from the beach. You will see dolphins in the morning, ghost crabs at night. The beach is uncrowded, and waves are perfect for wave boarding. Reco: Holly Ridge golf practice facility, Shipwrecks lunch and dinner (crab cake sandwich and wings), Stack em High breakfast, and Lost Treasure Mini Golf. FYI: garbage is Tues, Thurs, and Sat mornings at 3am.

Rainy Beach Trip

Although it rained almost our entire trip, the location on the beach cannot be beat. Our last two days we had views of dolphins and we even had a little time to relax on the deck. The house was clean but, as maybe expected in a pet friendly location, the couches were a little rough and ready. Plus that master bathroom is a little tiny (as food poisoning was involved. Yikes!) I appreciated Mark's communication and overall the location makes it!
