  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay! As other reviews have mentioned, the house is immaculate and beautifully decorated—truly professional-level design. We’ve mostly stayed at hotels in the past, and this was our 3rd vacation rental, but it’s hands down the BEST we’ve experienced. Every detail was taken care of, from the cozy living spaces to the fully equipped kitchen. We felt completely at home and well taken care of. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable getaway. We’ll definitely come back to stay!

Beautiful & Peaceful Retreat in Kitty Hawk

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home in Kitty Hawk. The house was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and had a warm, inviting feel that reminded us of our former home in Rehoboth Beach. It’s in a quiet location, perfect for a relaxing getaway, yet still convenient to everything the Outer Banks has to offer. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable retreat. We would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect Getaway in the Outer Banks – A Home Away from Home

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely vacation home in the Outer Banks. The house was incredibly cozy and lovingly furnished, making us feel right at home. The neighborhood was very friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with the neighbors. The outdoor shower was fantastic, and the view from the property was simply breathtaking. Everything was very clean, and the beach equipment provided was super helpful. But our favorite feature was the swing—it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Thank you for an amazing stay! We would love to come back again.

The house was imposing with high-quality grade building materials and appliances. The beds and seating were very comfortable. The outdoor space was lovely. It is a quiet street with low traffic. My brother and sisters would rent this home again.

Love the Nest!

What a great stay we had at the Nest. The house comfortably accommodated our family, everything was clean and well-stocked, and the owners were extremely responsive when we had a couple questions. Although we couldn’t walk to the beach, parking was easy to get to and readily available. We were sad to leave!
