âFor foreigners, you have to go 20 minutes down a rock road which runs along the lake. Plenty of options for restaurants along the way. Fairly easy to locate, I would stress that you do not attempt to drive to or from here at night because of the road. The restaurant/bar on site had great food and I ate here each night. Decent alcohol selection. The views are the lake make it worth staying and only a hour or less out from major sites, I used it as my home base.

âThe panoramic cabin is a basic shed with rudimentary electricity and plumbing. Itâs more like camping with an outhouse included. There are gaps in the clapboard siding walls you can see through. Itâs sold as rustic but itâs barely inhabitable. On the positive side the family that runs it were gracious and kind people. They were helpful and offered assistance in going into town. âThe hotel is stunning. Great architecture. The restaurant is also very nice. CAUTION - Since it's located in a national reserve, you must be in before 8PM. The forest service will close the gate. I arrived at 8:02PM and the gate was closed. Fortunately one side was open so I went through there. Account for the windy and steep roads. Also, the rain. You will be able to leave until the park open up.
After 10PM the front desk closes so you will be dealing with security.
