Breakers Edge ligger på västra änden av Surfsides fotgängarstranda. Istället för att köra ner I 45 till Galveston, ta 288 direkt söderut till Surfside. Det är en lätt bilresa från Houston-området. Huset ligger på Beach Drive, vid havet med fantastisk utsikt över viken.

Njut av denna strand reträtt året runt. Detta 3 sovrum, 3 badrum hus erbjuder över 1.000 kvadratmeter boyta. Huset innehåller central luft och värme, en full-size tvättmaskin och torktumlare, två plattskärms-TV med Comcast Xfinity och WIFI. Varje sovrum har ett eget badrum med fåfänga, toalett och dusch. Sängarna inkluderar en king, en drottning, en full och en futon (full).

I köket finns diskmaskin, kassaskåp, kokplattugn, mikrovågsugn, kylskåp i full storlek, kaffekanna, brödrost, crockpot, mixer, mixer, tallrikar, köksredskap och en mängd krukor och kokkärl. Köksön ger bra utrymme för matberedning eller extra sittplatser.

De rymliga vardagsrummen och matsalarna ger alla bekvämligheter i ett hem och erbjuder panoramautsikt över viken.

En trägrill grill grill finns på nedervåningen samt ett picknickbord för uteservering medan du lyssnar på vågorna och njut av havsbrisen.

Vissa dagar kan ha sand framför huset; andra dagar kanske inte. Det finns strandanslutningsområden bara ett kvarter till vänster eller två kvarter till höger. Fiske och dolphin tittar framför huset är bra, eller du kan besöka Surfside's Jetty Park (bara 3 kvarter bort) där du kan fågelskådning, fisk, eller se fartygen som kommer in eller ut ur djuphavshamnen i Freeport.

Perfect place to stay

We loved waking up in the morning and immediately seeing the ocean from nearly any window of the house. There was never sand in front of our house due to a week of high tide, but we had rented a golf cart and it was a short drive to drop all of the teens off on the beach. We also enjoyed watching the ships come in from the deck. The property was very clean and the check in/check out process was easy. There were plenty of extra blankets and pillows for the futon. Bathrooms were nice and the furniture was comfortable. If the weather would’ve been warmer, I’m not sure the air conditioner would’ve kept the house cool. It seemed to be struggling. My only tip to future renters would be to bring kitchen garbage bags. There was only one bag and it wasn’t very strong. We loved this place and would highly recommend it to friends.

Great Family Vacation

The location and house size were absolutely perfect. We really enjoyed the upper deck in the mornings and then evening time moved downstairs to picnic table area and played our outside games. The breeze from the ocean was consistent and very refreshing. I was really concerned about the jetty and the Brazos dumping into the sea so close with ships leaving and coming but, that ended up being one of the biggest events for the whole family to enjoy. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Relaxing Beach house Getaway

Breakers's Edge is a wonderful beach house. We especially enjoyed watching the cargo ships come in the channel while sitting on the front deck of the house. The home was very clean and spacious. We loved the three bedrooms with three bathrooms. The location of the home was near (10 -15 minutes) grocery stores and other shopping centers. We enjoyed it so much, we plan to return soon.

Pros and Cons

We enjoyed our stay here. The view was excellent and being able to walk on the beach at sunrise and sunset was perfect. The house accommodated our family of four, there was plenty of room. The drawbacks- The water never really got hot for showers. Barely warm is the best way to describe it. The mirrors in the kids bathrooms were so high my 14 year old who is about 5’4” had to stand on her tip toes to see her face. The bed in the master bedroom- there was no footboard on the frame and so the frame stuck out. My husband knocked his shins multiple times and bloodied them. The tap water was digusting!! Don’t drink it!! Bring bottled water. The fact that no trash bags or even a starter roll of paper towels etc was a little frustrating. All in all- we did enjoy our stay, but would probably pick somewhere else if we come back to the area.

Last minute Labor Day trip

We were very pleased with the property & the location, great access to everything! This was a last minute decision with us only booking it 36-hrs before we checked in so needless to say we were ecstatic that it was available & it was such a great property

It took effort to stay here…

My final note to owner: “The TV’s haven’t worked the entire time; some problem with Xfinity perhaps. This wasn’t a big deal but might be to someone else because I brought other devices to get on Netflix etc. We didn’t get hot water in the master until Friday morning even though we tried since Wednesday night. The lack of any type of supplies made the cost of this property much less desirable. Didn’t get information until Thursday morning that the water was not good for making coffee or drinking. Overall the location is wonderful, but the lack of any hospitality items such as hand towels for the bathrooms, soap or kitchen towels- a starter roll of paper towels, A few bottles of water for the first morning, counter cleaning supplies even dishwasher supplies might have made the stay a little more pleasant. Appreciate the efforts made as the issues arose but the fact that efforts had to be made took away the true vacation aspect of the home. Just some thoughts for your future rentals.”

beachfront review

The house was clean and smelled fresh. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the washer and dryer were nice to have. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the amenities of home. The repair man was quick and friendly and took care of the only issue we had right away. Check in was so easy and the view from the deck is amazing! We will definitely stay here again.

Long weekend stay

Overall, the property served us well while there for a long weekend. The owners/ mgmt company were kind and very responsive. Although the Property is quite old, it accommodates 8 people just fine. Some things things that were not so great (reason for the 4 stars): Lights did not work below the house, so we had to use flash lights to use the BBQ (very rusty, we used cooking sheets instead of grill area). Cost for linens and towels is very high and we paid extra to get the linens put on, yet, beds were not made (that was a bummer because we arrived late). There were basically no supplies (in fairness, they advised of that), but it is inconvenient to have to bring basically everything from soap for 3 bathrooms, toilet paper, dish detergent, laundry detergent, paper towels, hand towels etc. When I booked the place, I thought we would be able to walk directly to the beach, but there is actually a road and then big huge rocks one had to climb (better be a good climber) to get down to the water and there really isn’t a beach, but we played in the water there, which was nice. The real bummer was the neighbor though, who called the police on us for being noisy while we were BBQ’ing at 9 pm on a Friday night. Note, we were 4 adults with small kids and were neither loud nor rowdy. The police came and shook their head at the neighbors and left. But it gets better, the following day, the neighbors started screaming and cursing at my friends (a young couple with a 2 year old) who were staying with us. They didn’t realize that the road was one way (no signs to advise of that BTW); anyway they used every f... word in the book on this young family and obviously that was very scary and humiliating... we informed the owner and they advised that they would take this up with the neighbors to ensure future visitors will not have to experience this. Again, I would like to re-emphasize the responsiveness of the owners/ mgmt company who asked to talk to the police when I called them after the police arrived. They also picked up the phone immediately when we were unable to unlock the lockbox to return the keys prior to departure.

Great escape

The property was exactly as advertised - the views were beautiful, and the layout was perfect for two families and our kids aged 1, 3, 3, and 6. We had only one issue with the property (could not turn off water in one of the showers), but the response was quick and they resolved the issue in no time. Would definitely come back again!

Stayed During Hurricane Hanna

Our experience was limited due to hurricane Hanna. Obviously not related to the property or management but did limit the overall experience. We do plan to return and cross our fingers that the next trip will be spent enjoying the beach and outdoor experience. Given the weather conditions the property was comfortable and spacious for indoor games, movies, and cooking.

Lovely views

overall very pleased. It would have been nice to receive some welcome instructions regarding linens (make your own beds) and also a to-do for check out (most places I've stayed have a few things they want you to start on your way out to help the cleaning crew) We just took our best guess... Also there was no hand soap, liquid or bars even though there were soap dispensers. We did receive a bag with extra trash bags and laundry soap, but the trash bags didn't fit the can and were super thin. We made it all work, not a deal breaker, just added items I dont typically think about when choosing vrbo. I would definitely stay here again though.

Good, solid, clean property on the water. It was advertised as 21/2 baths but has 3 baths. Nicely decorated but a little dated. To turn on the oven push the clock button 1st. Even though we were on the water there is no beach. Beach is a 5-10 minute walk in either direction. But great deck which wraps around the house. Wonderful views of surfers, dolphins, ships, etc...bring your binoculars to enjoy the sights & ocean.

House was perfect to celebrate my 70th birthday with my small family-- Perfect view of water and seawall from all the front windows- Short walk to the beach- grandkids enjoyed the playground at the beach as well. Especially enjoyed driving on the beach! Nice neighborhood restaurants--- Would highly recommend ---
