“The Leland Lodge is a step back to a quieter time. Beautiful grounds abutting a private golf course Make for quiet nights and peaceful views. The property is impeccably maintained-very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Leland is a picturesque town with good restaurants and access to loads of outdoor activities. “Whaleback Inn is one of the coziest places we have ever stayed. The Innkeepers, Ty and Rachel, could not have been more warm and welcoming. The rooms were immaculate, and the beds were super comfortable and well made – like a Tempurpedic! I t's a perfect home base for exploring all of the Leelanau Peninsula, with a beautiful view of Lake Leelanau. “Really enjoyed our stay close to everything in Leyland. All the comforts of home.”

“The renovations were very nice making the rooms feel more luxurious. The balcony was delightful. We were able to witness the most beautiful sunrise. One negative was that the body wash and conditioner were both empty making for a less than desirable way to shampoo and shower. An oversight, I'm sure, but nonetheless inconvenient. Overall it was a very nice clean room.”

“What we liked was the location. To shops in town and restaurants. Things that should be improved. The lighting in the kitchen was horrid cobwebs around the lights. The water pressure taking a shower was not good. Since this is a dog friendly location. It would be best if the carpets were ripped up and just wood floor be put down. The carpet was dirty and covered up with a rug”
