The entrance to Lewes Castle in East Sussex, England which stands at the highest point of the town on an artificial mound constructed with chalk blocks.

Built in 1069 by William de Warenne the first Earl of Surrey it is one of only two remaining that are based upon the motte and bailey construction.

Its open daily to the public and commands some great views across the countryside, including the Harvey's Brewery which is located in Lewes.

Alles kein Problem so gegen 16:00 h wieder einkehren, Kessel an teatime im Wohnzimmer sitzen und sich wohlfühlen. Bei der Anreise beim eintreten begrüßte uns schon der Tannenbaum. “We had a wonderful stay in the Cart Lodge cottage. Location was perfect - easily accessible from the main yet very quiet and secure with plenty of parking. Cottage had everything we needed - including very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen (we cooked multiple times) and a cozy sitting room. Best feature: the sheep!
