Looking Glass Falls

A beautiful spot
Just off the 276 in the Pisgah Forest in North Carolina lies the Looking Glass Falls. Very easily accessible, it is a favorite destination and gets quite crowded. Hence it is advisable to get here early in the morning. This shot was taken during my Fall trip to the mountains. There's not much foliage around the waterfall, especially with this composition. But the surrounding rocks do add some nice warmth, especially with the sun rising directly behind the waterfall. The nearby town of Brevard is a very nice town with lots of eating joints. There is a coffee shop there called Quotations that is a must stop on a cold day. Best cappuccino I've ever had. A few steps off the road is this amazing waterfall - easy to find, just outside of Brevard in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest.

Let's take a short timeout to see some fall color! I drove up to the Blue Ridge Parkway looking for fall color. Unfortunately due to an early snow and a VERY late fall the fall line was about 20 miles wide. Fortunately this waterfall fell within that short strip of fall color.
