“I don't want to be unfair to this property. People checking into other rooms under other circumstances would likely have a better experience, but this was mine. I arrived after a complicated day of traveling during a typhoon, with wet bags and soaked clothes. After getting my passport and other legally required information, the woman who checked me in spent a fair bit of time explaining the rules/procedures of the guest house. Most of that information is included in the Expedia listing and had...

“Very nice ryokan. Super friendly and helpful staff who really made an effort to teach their foreign guests about Japanese culture. There are two private onsen, one indoors and one outdoors.”

“Rooms are very clean. Amenities are adequate. Above all the place is in an environment where ait quality is superb and hot springs are everywhere! Mt. Fuji is about 50 kilometers away and you can see it from a couple of train ride stops away whether permitting. On the other hand for customers with a certain age you may need to be prepared for slope climbing. For westerners who are used to having showers in the unit you might be challenged to use “public bathrooms”. Lastly it won’t hurt if you...

“It was AMAZING! My friend and I stayed for one night and it was the highlight of our entire trip in Japan. The food was incredible, the staff were extremely nice and helpful and attentive. And of course the onsens were immaculate. Everything was top tier, would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a classic Japanese experience but with modern comforts and breathtaking views!!”

“The earlier comments have certainly been taken to heart; the accommodation was clean and the amenities were good. Although the twin room was sparsely furnished, it was good enough for an overnight stay. However, if you're a side sleeper like we were, you might find the futons to be too thin to be truly comfortable. Excellent place for backpackers and short-stay, not so much for families or extended stays.”

“This was a lovely place to spend a short scuba diving vacation on the Izu Peninsula. The ocean views from my room were fantastic. The room was spacious and comfortable.”

"Amazing and so beautiful hotel. Our room was gorgeous! The staff very friendly. The Onsen was so nice and calm. The meal was excellent. The only thing we regret is not staying there more than one night."
"Beautiful location in Hakone with walking distance to Hakone open air museum and chisuji fall, great food with option for kids. Hotel room with private onsen incredibly beautiful. "
