“The house had everything it described, was very spacious and clean. The major downside was NO Wi-Fi that was a surprise ad never said it had it but in 2025 I guess you just automatically assumed it would have it. We did have a situation with a wasp infestation but I contacted the owner and she had someone out within literally 20 minutes to take care of it. “This unique place has it all: charm, class, comfort, beauty, and fun. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a gorgeous staircase leading to most of the rooms. Our room was spacious, with a luxurious bathroom. The gourmet kitchen is equipped for anything and everything with seating for eight. The adjoining dining room has a large table with additional seating and windows lining two walls. And clean! This VRBO was impressively clean! “This beautiful home perfectly met the needs of three families! The house is well stocked with all of the necessities with a few unexpected perks ;). We appreciated the fact that a blow up mattress was purchased for our stay as we had more than 8 people!! The property manager was very receptive to messages and flexible when we had an unexpected change in our schedule. We would surely stay here again if ever in the area and would recommend to others as well. ”

“We have stayed at the Elkader Jail House many times and the Harstad Suite is a great room for the 4 of us. The large kitchen and family space on the first floor provide plenty of space for everyone to get together and relax. Its nearby my family and takes the stress off anyone needing to make space for all of us to sleep. Its comfortable, clean and an easy to walk downtown. We'll be back soon!”
