We loved the peace of the river. What a special, quiet spot. Nature is really grounding and we enjoyed being down on the rocks watching ducks and other birds flying through, doodle bugs, fish and other aquatic creatures doing their thing in the low water this year in early September. My husband did plein air oil paintings most mornings. We picked blackberries.
The home is nicely designed and furnished with artistry and nice amenties such as moveable outdoor chairs and comfy throw blankets. We especially relaxed in the sunroom over looking the river. This is a nice location; off the busy, sometimes foggy coast.
Florence seems to be a thriving town with a lot of salmon and trout fishing (the fish move up-river when the water cools in early fall), nice restaurants - the seafood shack next to the Visitor's Center has great chowder. Loved the Fresh Harvest Cafe. There's an elk preserve south of town, the 40 mile-long Oregon National Dunes Rec. Area and lots of hiking along the coast such as Devil's Churn at Cape Perpetua, and the Hobbit Trail to the north, Bandon Beach down south. We hiked the local beautiful, shady Sweet Creek trail twice enjoying the waterfalls.
Looking forward to returning!
