“It’s a very nice cave hotel that is very conveniently located to explore the old Matera on foot. It is safe and quiet at night. There is also a very good restaurant right outside the door Dominica was absolutely wonderful. She came to meet me all the way at the airport, even though my flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until the evening. She also gave me a detailed information on what to see in the town, the most important landmarks, where to go for nice views, where to go out to eat, etc....

“Great place just outside the old city. Check in was easily coordinated. The room was comfortable and spacious. Simple bath products. Nice little snacks and coffee as a welcome. Easy to walk to the Sassi and see Old Matera. Would recommend.”

“I really liked that there was everything you could need to be comfortable. You can tell there is someone considerate behind the administration. There was abundant drinking water, teas and coffee, water boiler, cups, etc in the common area. In the bathroom, shower cap, soap, and other amenities, enough towels for all the guests (this is not always the case). The family room was great with two rooms and ac in each one. Wifi worked well and the owner is super nice. Breakfast was simple but...

It’s conveniently located near restaurants, tourist walks and one of the main piazzi. The biggest challenge in Matera is parking but we were directed to a big public parking garage with a convenient shuttle which drops one off about a block from Geco Green.
