Our recent stay at Glyn Newydd Megalong Valley was thoroughly enjoyable and provided just the right accommodation for our family group, which included ten people and two cavoodles. The house offered a beautiful view and maintained a peaceful atmosphere throughout our visit.The cottage, located adjacent to the main house, was ideal for our daughter and her family. Featuring two bedrooms, each with its own en suite, and a comfortable living area, the cottage suited their needs perfectly.Despite the many positives, we encountered a few issues during our stay that we would like to bring to the owners’ attention. Firstly, the cottage had a strong sewer smell, which required us to keep the windows open in an attempt to eliminate the odour. Additionally, heavy rain overnight led to a leak in the second bedroom. As a result, luggage on the floor and three of the pillows became wet (we placed the pillows in the sun to dry them out). We also discovered that the cold water tap in the bathroom of bedroom two was broken.The main house itself was clean and featured a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of bench space—ample for several adults to prepare meals. The house was very spacious and comfortable, accommodating our large group with ease.Given the ample bench space available, it would make sense for the microwave to be relocated to a more accessible position as it was placed quite high on top of the refrigerator and difficult to safely use. Also, towels could be better quality.

We had a wonderful time at Glyn Newydd! My extended family (6 adults, our 11 year old niece and two dogs) had both the homestead and the cottage, which gave us plenty of room to each have our own space, or get together for family activities. Also lots of space to wander about and watch the stunning view change throughout the day. And that was really the best part: the view was absolutely magical! And the homestead faces north, captures it all for you, and is set up so you have a range of comfortable locations from which to enjoy it. The property has all your creature comforts. The fireplace is just lovely, the kitchen is well stocked, there is air con, and the beds have electric blankets. We also really appreciated our hosts Eveline and Robert. They set up the fireplace so it was easy for us to light and use, made sure there were plenty of logs to burn, were always available for communications, and even had beds for the dogs! We can't recommend enough :-)

Favourite Winter Getaway

Another brilliant stay and Glyn Newydd! Sunny days and chilly nights, breathtaking views. Lots of walks, reading, playing games by the fire, eating, drinking, viewing the night sky. Great new kitchen, too!

Awesome spot!

The description does not do it justice, awesome spot and view. Lovely new kitchen and nice homestead and cottage. Coffee machine would have been nice and a few extra consumables. Overall had a great stay with the family and would definitely stay again. Thank you Eveline & Rob.

Multi generational family getaway

Large property, easily accessible, suitable for all age ranges. Many gathering spaces inside & out, very well equipped kitchen for self catering, we loved the wide verandah which was a great space from which to watch the rain pour down!! Once the fog cleared we could appreciate the magnificent natural surroundings, including kangaroos & the stunning cliffs.

Dog friendly property with fabulous view

Beautiful mountain views in dinning, sitting area and from bedrooms' window doors. Getting close to wild animals including kangaroos, ducks, farm horses, etc. Dog friendly house setting allows the whole family enjoy the trip including our pets.

Stunning view

We were attending the wedding of our son at a local winery. The most important criteria were enough bedrooms and bathrooms and proximity to the wedding venue. These were all fulfilled, plus a good size kitchen, living and dining spaces. But we were blown away by the spectacular view from most of the bedrooms, living spaces and massive wrap-around verandah (which also had plenty of seating for relaxing and dining). This was great for having extended family over for dinner on 2 of the nights. We had a wonderful stay. Communications were fast and the hosts, very kindly, gave us an earlier check-in. I appreciate this is not always possible when turning over bookings so we were very grateful.
