“My Friends and I stayed at Cosgrove Cottage over the weekend just gone, and it was nothing short of magical. The setting is simply beautiful, right on the edge of the Forest. The marketing photos do not do it justice, you have to see it to believe it. The presentation of the actually property was immaculate and the Owners were very possibly the nicest people I have ever met. Warm, welcoming and extremely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The Tour of the Grounds was informative but...

“Two adults stayed. Used both bedrooms. Very hot but able to open windows. Enjoyed the upstairs outside deck when we were there. Useful having washing machine. Plenty of street parking, but tight spaces & don’t rely on parking directly outside. Bathroom tiny but fit for purpose. Easy walk to beach front. Thank you ”

“Enjoyed our stay, cottage is welcoming and attention to detail appreciated. Very clean and everything you need is thought of. Garden is nice and well kept. Only down side is having no parking, but owner has arranged parking at nearby water park, but this was a little problematic for us. There is quite a bit of road noise as it’s on a relatively busy road, but maybe we notice it more as we live in a very rural location with no traffic and are not used to it. But would def stay again, thank you....

“Cottage was really nice to stay at for our 10 day England trip. Bathrooms being updated was nice and the beds were very comfortable. Being positioned on a golf course off the main road made for quiet nights. The bistro next door with the included 10% discount for staying at the cottage was excellent for breakfast and evening drinks. Perfect little picturesque and quaint cottage. ”

“We needed a property big enough to accommodate 13 people and Bellropes was perfect. Great kitchen, big enough to seat everyone and fully equipped with everything we needed. Garden was huge and being able to get to the beach was an added bonus, if a little further away than the 5 minutes stated.Would definitely recommend for large families wanting a homely place to get-together.Garde ”

“I greatly enjoyed the combination of comfort, beautiful Yurt interior and outdoor living for 4 days. The wood burner gets the Yurt very cosy in a short while if it is chilly. Charlie was very helpful and considerate. There is some noise from the passing road but the views and secluded position more than make up for that. I would happily return.”

“This property was basic but perfectly comfortable and in a stunning location! The lane to the property was very over geown and unfortunately my husbands car (which has low clearance) was unable to get down it. But the owner soon dorted an alternative for us. The neighbours ford focus had bo problems so i would say this wont be a problem for most! Access down to views over the estuary and walks from the house was great. No wifi but perfectly good signal for 4g - or a good excuse to go off grid....

“Very well appointed and located - pretty wrap around garden with sun at different times of day- close to jetty where grandsons loved crabbing and yummy unpretentious seafood restaurants.Only reservation for some could be 2 flights of steep stairs to 2 of 3 bedrooms with only bathroom and loo downstairs— but cottage dates from 1575 so don’t expect en-suites! - what you do get is character and comfort. ”

“We stayed here to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was perfect , thank you A beautiful properly in a beautiful location ”

“we have a lovely time, communicaiton was good, the property was nice, there was an extra snug at the back of the garden, great for teens. We had all we needed to stay, the communal area was very nice, there is a patio and garden too. We were able to park with 2 cars. It was only a few minutes walk from the shop and from the riverfront.”

Bra läge men högljutt på nätterna

"Läget mitt i Colchester är bekvämt, det är nära till allt. Men det ligger också precis där det är som mest livat på kvällarna, framförallt i veckosluten, och då är det mins sagt högljutt utanför. Det var högsommarvärme under vår vistelse, och eftersom det inte fanns någon ventilation alls var det otroligt varmt i rummet. Det fanns en bordsfläkt, men vi var tvungna att ha minst ett fönster öppet för att få in friskluft, vilket gjorde att allt partyljud utifrån hördes mycket väl och gjorde det svårt att somna. Det var discodunk och högljudda människor flera timmar efter midnatt. Vi rekommenderar andra hotell med mer skyddat läge."

"Bra hotell med trevlig personal, standarden är lite lägre men ändå rent och fräscht Frukosten kunde ha lite mer utbud annars är vi nöjda Lite svårt att få tag på taxi "
