Host offered nice amenities. First night was lovely. Fiddkehead had great food. MC proper is beautiful. It would have otherwise been a very nice trip. Beware: This is a duplex with a top and bottom unit. Our second night was sleepless, with a rowdy party all night even past 4 am. Pounding up and down the floor. Scraping of the heavy metal kitchen chairs along the ceramic tile floor. Loud music. At one point we thought there was a fight. Police were called twice. Beware that there is nothing they can do and we did not hear back from the host until the morning, and still nothing they could do either. There is apparently no no vetting on the people that rent the units, hence it is a relative crap-shoot with respect to your temporary neighbors. We were looking for a quite 2 night stay. Hard to achieve this when you have raucus, boisterous, and unrestrained not-so-much salt of the earth type people up above with no regard for the people below or in the houses next door. We will never again use anything but a hotel. At least there, you can change rooms or the guilty party can be tresspassed and removed from the premises. (No, we've never done such a thing.) And no, we certainly have not been compensated for our night in hell.
We would have had a more peaceful night had we pitched a tent directly on the railroad tracks.
Sorry Hosts, not all of this was your fault, but this is our review of our stay in MC.
