“The spa was nice. The gotel itself could use a refresh and the air conditioner was not wprking in the whole hotel, but we made it work. Breakfast was nice”
“Had a 3 night stay with two dogs all straight from long flight. All 3 of us were welcomed and dogs are welcome in eating areas too! Very comfy bed and large shower. Amazing views, very nice restaurant on site and great walks out - local weir recommended and walking to camara area in Miranda do Corvo itself. Will be back to go horse-riding with my daugther! Thankyou! ”
“The staff were so friendly and kind to our dog as well. We normally stop in the area on the way down to Portugal which we visit frequently. We will definitely be staying again. Good walks from the hotel along the river and very central location so access to facilities, restaurants etc. Free parking too.”
“As the name says the hotel is on a mountain top with fantastic view. It was still low season (I hope) so not many guests so we had plenty of space at the pool and in the restaurant (with great food and service).
The gardner was appaently on vacation as flower beds and pots had mostly weeds.”
“Excellent hôtel bien placé à côté du centre ville place de parking devant l hôtel du coup nous avons tout fait à pied 20mn pour aller visiter le château! Les musées sont gratuits et super ! Le personnel est top et nous donne les bonnes adresses pour déjeuner et nous fournit plein d explication sur la ville je recommande si vous voulez visiter cette jolie ville ”

“We zijn nog nooit zo hard in de watten gelegd als door Paulo en Judith! Zo een gastvrije mensen, niets is te veel. Geweldig ontbijt, met dorpsgemaakt gebak. Een ideaal zwembad om eens goed af te koelen. Kamers mooi en superproper. Een aanrader. Perfect om enkele nachten te verblijven.”

"Overall a very nice stay. We were expecting Hästen beds but we’re told they’ve been changed in November 2024. The new beds are of the firm type. The hotel was very clean and was very nicely designed, the bookshelf carved into the bathroom wall was particularly cool! Service was friendly and attentive. The breakfast on the top floor was small but nice with a beautiful view. "
"The hotel looks like a medieval castle but was actually built in the late 1800. There's a wow factor when approach the hotel. And some of the common areas are impressive such as the dining room. The young gentleman at the reception was very kind and helpful. And the surrounding forest is beautiful.
But the positives stop there. The problem is the hotel is falling apart. And the owners don't care. Wallpaper peeling off all over the place. Dirty bathroom och bathtub. Toilet doesn't flush properly. The cleaning staff must find paper and worse floating in the bowl every time they clean the room.
The staff in the restaurant is like Faulty Towers. Running here and there nervously, arguing with each other, throwing food on the table and running away again. We actually had a good laugh at it all, but considering the price and low quality of the food it's a disgrace.
Go here, look at the hotel and forest, but then leave and stay and eat elsewhere. "
