“This was such a a fun place to stay! We loved all the animal ( geckos, chameleons, and birds). It was also fun to walk the grounds and find fresh fruit! The house was located in a nice spot close to a several hikes and beaches.”

“This is our second time staying here. The yurts are lovely, comfortable and well equipped. The central skylight shows dazzling stars at night. Communication with Lisa is excellent and speedy and helpful. Love love love the view of South point from up where the weather is delightfully cool, but not cold. We hope to go back again if we can! “This property was unique and we're so happy to chose to stay here.Pros: The views are incredible and the outdoor living spaces were very comfortable - in particular we spent a lot of time on the high top chairs, sofa bed, and two person dining table. The kitchen was fully stocked and operational with everything we needed. The bedroom was perfectly sized and comfortable. It was so easy to access Manini Beach (you can walk). By staying in Captain Cook you have a much more "locals" experience....

“Dave and Wendy were excellent communicators regarding the check-in and check-out process. The VRBO had everything we needed for cooking, laundry, and escaping from the hustle and bustle of life. It was very convenient to get to Volcanoes National Park and Kona from their location. We loved using the French press coffee maker, enjoying the beautiful backyard view, and being surrounded by the sounds of nature. Stargazing in the backyard was one of our favorite memories at the place! 10/10...

“The cottage was fantastic. Had all the amenities. It was in a quiet neighborhood, with a view of a golf course, but easy driving distance to the Volcanoes National Park and the town of Volcano. We were very busy seeing the various attractions of the island, such as waterfalls, the black sand beach and South Point, and hiking in the National Park. We wished we could have spent more time at the cottage. Highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. ”

“Todd’s place is an amazing hideaway near Volcano NP. Easy access into the park and the hot tub is perfect after a long day hiking in the park. Great place and awesome host!”

“This is a beautiful property and very peaceful and calming. We had excellent communication with the manager who really helped us by arranging a washing machine when a prior renter had broken the machine at this cottage. Also, we forgot a ring that has much sentimental value (it got mixed up in the bedding while we were packing to leave). The housekeeper turned it in and the manager contacted us immediately to coordinate it's return. We were already on our way to another part of the island but...

“This is our second time to stay here. We loved it, and came back because it was so quiet and comfortable, and such a beautiful place and view. The yurts are well equipped and clean. The elevation makes for comfortable cool, but not cold, nights. The central sky light is spectacular at night with so many stars. It is calm and quiet and beautiful with various flowers. But it is easily accessed from Kona South Point and Volcanoes National Park. If we get back to the big island again, we hope to...

“Loved our stay here. It was the perfect spot a little off the beaten path that was a great home base for our adventures on the big island. Close enough to everything you need and far enough from the hoardes of tourists, with lots of little shops and spots to check out nearby. As for the space itself, it's super cozy and has an incredible ocean view from the screened in patio. Waking up to that view was one of the best parts of our trip. Would 100% stay here again.”

The historic cabin is in a fantastic location in Volcano town right near the Kilauea Lodge with its fantastic restaurant and the Swap Meet at the community center, and a quick and easy drive to the best of Volcano National Park. Even though it is so close to everything Volcano has to offer, the property feels very private with lots of native plants and trees.
