“My husband, son's girlfriend and I stayed in The Nest when our son was in town playing baseball against Lamar University. This house was a great alternative to a hotel. It was cute, clean and well stocked. The owner had great communication and left some special touches in the home for us. The only negative is the size of the beds if you have more than 2 adults. I bought a $30 air mattress and took sheets from home. That worked fine for us. I recommend this house if you are going to be visiting...

“Having gorwn up in the area, literally about one mile away, and spent a large amount of time in the area of this rental, it was exactly what we expected. It was clean and decorated well. It had everything we needed for our brief stay. I wanted to address the previous comments about the water. There is just a slight tint of iron in the water I am sure it is the result of older piping, or possibly the supply. I am not certain but they may not be on municipal water. “The house was lovely, the yard needed mowing badly. Was disappointed the yard was not fenced. We thought a pet friendly property would have a fenced yard. The neighborhood was awful. We tried to not go out at night. Neighbors had large groups of people outside almost all the time they played loud vulgar music. The yard had little cockle burrs bad. They got into our little 6 pound senior dogs fur so bad we had to take him to the animal er to get them out on Saturday.”

“We had a great stay! Great location, quiet neighborhood, easy access, 5 mins away from the best fishing you can find, spacious, and great amenities! Highly suggest if you need a private and peaceful place to stay, I highly recommend this house! Our family had a five star experience!”

“Nice cozy place with good amenities like hot tub, small firepit, creek access for good fishing and comfortable furnishings inside the house. Our only small let down, if you can even call it that, was that the location was not as secluded as we thought. It's pretty close to town and the other cabins on the property are pretty close by which makes it feel not as secluded as we hoped for. Overall, I would say 8.5 out of 10 rating though. Thanks.”

“The only problem we found with our stay was the fact that we didn’t stay longer!! The environment was absolutely relaxing and our daughter found fun in every corner (especially getting to interact with the horses!), and not to mention the hot tub, which was awesome. We can’t wait to come back!”
