The dinner in the restaurant was excellent as well, and as a guest at the hotel you get the chance to go on the complimentary Battlement guided tour. It's well worth a stay and I'll definitely come back some day. â
âGorgeous place, full of character and warm of welcome. Great atmosphere and staff obviously love what they do and are always watchful and ensure that you have a special time. Rooms are generous size and fitted and furnished to high quality. Very clean and tidy. Did-friendly was a great bonus for us. Then⊠the food is off the scale amazingly good. Definitely will return. â
âMatfen Hall really is outstanding, my stay was faultless.
All staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful- I was greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and my bags were taken up to my room whilst I checked in and relaxed in the Great Hall.
Every nook and cranny of this hotel is gorgeous, beautifully crafted and fabulously furnished, including the room I was allocated. It was a generous size bedroom and dressing area with a huge bathroom, stunning views and light and airy in the daytime but warm...
âA very clean and comfortable place. The rooms were very nice and the beds quite comfortable. The bathrooms were up to date and there was plenty of hot water. The pub next door was very hand for a drink and breakfast in the morning. Very friendly staff. â
âA change of plans took me to Hexham and the Beaumont hotel for what was to be a very pleasant experience. Arrived two hours early and was only looking to store my bagage as I fully expected to be asked to wait until regular check-in was open. Instead the hotel went the extra mile and had my room ready in a bit more than half an hour. And the Abbey and the pleasant park just across the road it was very easy to spend those 30 minutes in relaxing way.

âI needed a one night stay before my flight. Although not an ensuite i had a bathroom along the corridor to myself.
Host was very friendly and informative, helped with all my airport access questions. Excellent value for money, and only an 8 minute flat walk away from the airport. Yes some bits are a bit tired, but for the price paid excellent value for money. Would definitely stay there again when flying from Newcastle Airport. â
âThe service, food and drink here was amazing. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the views just down the road made for an amazing sunset.

"Everything about Langley Castle was excellent. The room was grand and spacious, with a view of the castle. "As part of a trip through the area we book this extremely valuable place. Beautifully decorated, nice and cosy bar area and cosy rooms which however were extremely cold and heating did not work.
Breakfast was all heated when plate served and not as good at al as can be expected at a hotel of this standard."
