Easy commute to the Fairgrounds where we were working. Great communication from owners! Old home with old home charms and quirks. We would stay there again!

Kitchen and bathroom roaches

Loved the decor and coziness of the house. Kitchen could of been a little cleaner stove, floors and countertops. Seen a few roaches yikes.... everything else was great. Maybe some more towels not do dingy. Would stay again.

Cute House

Booked this house for a two week stay. Had some issues during the first week with cleanliness, but the host was very easy to work with and eager to make things better. Definitely some areas to improve on, but the communication and effort from the host made this stay far more enjoyable.

Nasty Surprise

We got into the house late after a long drive and refused to stay there. The outside was alarming as we walked up and the inside was so bad. Dirty and smelled bad.

Worked great for us!

It was close to Bennett Event Center and that was wonderful!! It is on a busy street but that didn’t bother us at all. The house was clean and had everything we needed. I would recommend turning the air down before guest arrive. It was set at 85*. That’s understandable when it’s not rented. We got in about 3:30/4 in the afternoon. As you can imagine, it was an extremely hot summer day in OKC. The first night no one got good rest because the house just couldn’t cool down. We left to go to our event the next morning. We didn’t arrive back until that afternoon. The house was cool and comfortable for the rest of our stay. Would be happy to stay here again. It worked great for our group. Thank you for having us. Disappointed in our stay

Looks can be deceiving (VRBO listing pictures). We were disappointed in our stay at the Cottage in the City (in a ghetto neighborhood). Upon arrive the lock key to get in was difficult to open (property owner did state that prior to arrival). Once we got inside, the house reeked of an old musty home. It was hard to breath in the smell the first night and it wasn’t helpful for my daughter who has breathing issues. The floors were filthy and the bathroom floors had mold growing around the baseboards especially behind the toilet. There were dead bugs on the ground. The dishes that we used were not clean, as well as the spatula we were about to use had food on it prior to someone else’s stay. I had to rewash everything we “wanted” to use by hand because I was nervous to know if the dishes were sanitized and cleaned. In addition, there was no dishwasher in the kitchen, so we had to hand wash everything! Who wants to do that on vacation. Our first night was not enjoyable since the house is on a main street, you were able to HEAR everything from passing cars, sirens and neighbors yelling. With the house interior, most of the doors and cabinets don’t shut all the way, hence it is a very old home. That is understandable. One of the windows did not have a lock on it and we felt very uncomfortable for our family safety. Lastly, in the bathroom the tub was not clean and appeared scummy upon arrive. We will not be coming back and we highly DO NOT recommend this place for your stay.

Great historic home

This home is just adorable with so many unique architectural details. The arched windows, hardwood floors, cute little built ins and vintage door hardware all add to the charm. My 2 year old granddaughter loved hiding her toys and playing hide and seek in this roomy home. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well supplied. The owner was very responsive and addressed any issues promptly. The location was central for all of our OKC adventures. There is some street noise, however the backyard is quieter. The off street parking and access to the garage were nice bonuses.
