We rented this house for a week with the understanding that the pool was heated, as the listing stated when we booked the rental.
Upon arriving, we saw that the pool wasn't heated. We immediately contacted the host and requested a partial refund so we could move to a place with a heated pool as our small children would spend much more time in the water if the pool was heated (the main reason for coming to AZ).
We thought that was more than fair as rental rates had been reduced DRASTICALLY in the area and a refund of 1/2 would have left the host with what they were advertising the house for the following week. It would have also allowed us to rent another house without having to spend additional funds.
The host, unfortunately, refused and basically told us to pound sand.
We made the best of it and enjoyed our stay as much as possible.
Upon returning home, we noticed the host wouldn't allow us to leave a review. So, we contacted VRBO and notified them of the situation. They helped us get a $600 refund and the ability to leave this comment. While that wasn't the outcome we were looking for, we are happy VRBO got involved.
The home, overall, was nice and the location was great but we will not be staying at a home hosted by this company again.
