âLocation was great for really great access to this quaint town. Roll out of bed and cross the bascule bridge (or watch it open- fun for kids)!, tons of great restaurants within 2-3 minute walk. All of the water happenings are visible from the hotel. Breakfast at Sift, a 5 minute walk "must" for great breakfast/ unbelievable croissants! Seaport close by 5 min car ride. Nice high quality rocking chairs on porches. Great restaurant on facility. Down to earth not pretentious. Just a great spot...

âIt was a great stay. It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and will certainly not be our last now with such a great experience we had at the House of 1833. Evan was an exceptional host/chef. He gave us a tour of the home and the history. The breakfast in the morning was incredible from the homemade apple cranberry muffin to the Greek Italian Mac & Cheese Spinach Souffle. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet, yet close to town place to stay. â
âThe Staff and service were amazing! Free breakfast was delicious with several choices. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. One of the easiest check-in's I've ever experienced. Would highly recommend this hotel for several reasons, one of course being only a mile from Mohegan Sun Casino, with a shuttle service.â
âVery dirty place. It looks ok but was filthy. We got to choose from two rooms, and at first glance it looked ok. Very dirty floors, hairs from previous guests shaving around faucet, dirty shower curtain, my child itched all night and I hope it was not bed bugs- we slept with the light on rest of the stay⊠Dirty kitchen table and fridge, steep stairs and no elevator. Insects stuck in bathroom ceiling, very loud AC, lots of trash outside the door, the office was in such a mess etc.â
âOur dinner at the hotel was not what we excpecte. My chesse mac and short ribs was delicious my husband had Prim rib and a bake potato was less then room temperature. He did inform the waitress after we paid the bill. The Prim Rib dinner was a great disappointment therefore we did not eat there again during iut stay.â
