“It is an old cabin/house that is a bit run down. Our biggest issue was the super intense musty smell. We were also disappointed with the quality of the bedding and towels (which only 2 were left for our group of 4). It's a really steep price tag for a property like this and I would never use the word serene to describe it. The owners were easy to work with, but we were glad we only had to be there to sleep. “We visited Hill City for the 4th of July to celebrate and visit family. We wanted our own space to retreat to with our two children and this property was perfect! It sits just outside of town, away from the crowds but close enough to quickly get back to the fun! The units were clean, nicely organized and had everything we could have needed if we forgot something. The view of Hill Lake is gorgeous. I highly recommend this place if you need a quiet, peaceful lake retreat! ”

“We had an amazing experience renting the tree lodge at the Shire in the Woods. Michael was very helpful and easy to communicate with. They took Covid precautions and the cabin was exceptionally clean. We had an amazing time, saw a baby black bear alongside the road and a lot of wildlife. We had fun making a bonfire and grilling outside and listening to all the sounds of nature. We are already planning our next trip back.”
