Upon arrival, we were struck by his graciousness and generosity. We had everything we could need. While some hosts provide just enough for the stay, Dan and Sam stocked the home generously. “The River House at Claremont was one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. I am a huge Gone With the Wind fan and this property brought you back to the South prior to the Civil War all we needed were ball gowns to make it really authentic. The house was well appointed with the necessaries (toilet paper, tissues, and toiltetries). In addition the kitchen pantry had salt, pepper, flour and other staples. The interior of the house is amazing with much of the furniture handmade by the owner...

“We had a fantastic stay! The house is gorgeous and we loved spending our evenings on and along the river. There was lots of space for our group of 8 to have their own rooms and bathrooms. Using the ferry (which was only 5 minutes away) to get across to Jamestown and Williamsburg was easy and greatly enjoyed by my children. We hope to stay here again in the future!”

“Although we only stayed one night, we hope to spend more time there in the future. For our family of four, this setup was perfect.with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, as well as the kitchen, dining and living rooms. We also liked that it is close to a grocery store and the outlet mall. Next time we hope to use more of the property's amenities like the swimming pools and outdoor recreation areas.”
