“What a hidden gem of a place! A gorgeous river cottage overlooking the St James River. Grateful to be immersed in a natural rural atmosphere and also so close to many things to do both at the cottage and near Williamsburg. We swam, walked the beach, kayaked and fished! A magical sun rising over the StJames River takes one’s breathe away! I understand why people come back here. It’s a very special place. “Wonderful place for family fun. From the arcade to the pool table, to the fire pit and the board games, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was in a beautiful area, quiet and open. Phones and TVs were not a priority. The host was accessible and helpful, and the quarters were comfortable and clean. Wish we had more time to enjoy!! Highly recommend. “I stayed here mainly as a place to sleep and didn’t use any of the resort amenities. The bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the room was very quiet even though the laundry room was right outside our door. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with the cleanliness. The room smelled like someone had cooked or eaten fried chicken, and the odor never went away during our stay.
