“Very friendly staff in the reception and security very polite and always greeted you with respect. Room clean and fully equipped like refrigirator and coffemaker. Maybe room somewhat not updated but alright. I stayed for a full week and was very pleased. ”
“Really clean, Japanese minimalist hotel room with a totally open shower, nice little coffee concept & Japanese restaurant on the main floor. Close to cool bars & fancy restaurants.
Only feedback would be to add a shelf / drawer of some sort for those of us who like to unpack the suitcase.”

“I absolutely loved this apt and hope it is available the next time we visit LA. it accommodated our entire family, and we felt welcome and at home. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, grocery close enough, and transportation (train). Parking was not convenient in the evenibg, but that is expected in downtown LA and has NOTHING to do with the apt itself, just our poor planning. 5stars”

“This was the perfect place to stay for my short work trip. It was extremely clean and felt very secure. The room was spacious and had a little desk where I could work. Even their simple breakfast coffee and pastry were perfect before I headed to work. I also greatly appreciated that they offered on-site parking, which was also secure. “Clean room but with a slightly musty smell. We could hear the people sitting downstairs even though they were not terribly loud. Chinatown LA wasn’t very nice in comparison with others and mainly seemed like a run-down part of LA. Low score for environmental friendliness due to plastic cutlery etc at breakfast. Breakfast was served in a little side room -not too cozy but serviceable. ”

"Really nice hotel but can’t really see why anyone would like to stay in this part of LA unless your doing business in downtown or have friends to visit there like I had. Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents. The homeless people are nice and I never felt threatened but look ahead where you are going on the streets and don’t look down into your phone.
Single room with a skyview at almost the top but a 13 floor building won’t give so much skyview at all in downtown LA.
Some reviewers here have praised the shower, I looked into my shower and thought that’s just a regular shower head but OMG that water pressure was superb!
So I am still recommending this hotel for anyone having a purpose to visit downtown LA (not just random touristing of LA) or a romantic getaway where you want to stay in and old fashioned hotel, enjoy the rooftop bar and going by taxi to a restaurant at the evening when it is dark outside (avoid walking when it is dark!).
The tiles in the bathrooms of my single room was really beautiful and the bed just perfect.
So this hotel can’t do much about its surroundings but the historic elevators could get some more love by hotel management.
