“Carol was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome upon arrival. We got to pat one of her adorable dogs and see cute sheep out the window every day. Lovely place to stay if you like quiet and a rural location! Some of the roads close to the cottage are one way just to bare in mind and we had deer crossing where the woods are one night (which we were very excited to see!), so please drive carefully. Cottage was nicely decorated and comfortable, and with a smart TV which was an added bonus!...

“We so enjoyed our stay in School House, Woodchurch. The house and garden are absolutely gorgeous. Peacefully situated right next to the church, the house is cosy and stylish with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We visited Rye, Ellen Terry’s house (National Trust), walked a lovely route (7 miles) from Warehorne to Appledore and back, Tenterden, and did some good walks from the house. Will definitely be back - one of the best houses/gardens we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you!!”

“Beautiful! Clean, bright, equipped with everything you could need, very secure, we have a dog, a beautiful vase of fresh flowers from their garden and a very nice welcome pack, especially the decadent chocolate cake! Across the road was an ideal open space to walk Fraser and all the nearby towns easy to get to, ie Rye, Hastings and Battle to name a few. It’s a lovely area to explore and the cottage a wonderful find, thank you”

“Beautiful cottage, well furnished and fitted out to very high standard. We found it extremely comfortable and could not fault it in any way. The countryside location is attractive and wonderfully peaceful. Good pubs in local villages, close to Eastbourne and coast, with lots to see, do and walk. A great break.”

“We stayed in the barn at the end of the driveway. It has its own private patio and use of the grounds and pool. The barn itself was clean and well equipped with views across the countryside. The check-in was non-contact which is perfect for me as I'm clinically vulnerable. The welcome box was a nice touch. A perfect, peaceful place to relax while visiting family in the area. ”

“Lovely stay at the stables. They have been converted to a high standard and were very comfortable for our family with two small children. It was great that there was a stair gate in the top bedroom as there isn’t a door. Had a nice meal at the local pub and in easy reach by car of local visiting sites. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and let us wander around their lovely garden. Would recommend. ”

“We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!”
