Hotell i Shadow Hills

"This place is nothing like it shows in the pictures. Just forget that lovely balcony they use to promote themselves. Also they were not helpful at all - I complained about noise on the first evening, never got another room. After a while I realised it was because I was next to the very loud elevator. This is the worst hotel I've been to."

"I was planning to stay for 3 nights at Glendale Express Hotel, but I left after the first night due to several issues. The hotel is very old, with a musty smell in the room, and the walls are incredibly thin. I could hear everything from the neighboring room – there was a loud party going on all night, complete with dancing, children crying, and constant noise. It was impossible to get any sleep. The room itself was small, outdated, and uncomfortable. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I will never stay here again. Terrible experience overall."

"Hotellets läge är bra. Trevligt hotell. Tyvärr var poolen stängd de fem dagar vi var där. Fick ingen information om det vid incheckningen vilket var synd då vi främst bokade hotellet för poolen. Vi fick använda en pool på ett annat hotell men det är obekvämt att gå iväg för ett bad. Fick även 35 dollar rabatt per natt så vi fick kompensation men hade velat ha informationen innan incheckningen för att kunna välja ett annat hotell."

"Really nice hotel but can’t really see why anyone would like to stay in this part of LA unless your doing business in downtown or have friends to visit there like I had. Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents. The homeless people are nice and I never felt threatened but look ahead where you are going on the streets and don’t look down into your phone. Single room with a skyview at almost the top but a 13 floor building won’t give so much skyview at all in downtown LA. Some reviewers here have praised the shower, I looked into my shower and thought that’s just a regular shower head but OMG that water pressure was superb! So I am still recommending this hotel for anyone having a purpose to visit downtown LA (not just random touristing of LA) or a romantic getaway where you want to stay in and old fashioned hotel, enjoy the rooftop bar and going by taxi to a restaurant at the evening when it is dark outside (avoid walking when it is dark!). The tiles in the bathrooms of my single room was really beautiful and the bed just perfect. So this hotel can’t do much about its surroundings but the historic elevators could get some more love by hotel management. "
