“I didn’t realize I had stayed here before, but you can definitely tell the rooms have been upgraded—they felt fresh and comfortable. The Ridge Sierra also shares amenities with another nearby resort just a few minutes away, and there’s a convenient shuttle that can pick you up anytime. The indoor/outdoor pool was a lifesaver—it kept my kids entertained the whole time. They also offer activities for both kids and adults, which was a nice bonus. “I pre-paid for a night's stay. The unit was clean, everything was serviceable, the desk agent was polite. It appears to have been updated with new tile, shower doors, sink, furniture, lamps, carpet. The bed was comfortable and clean. The driveway could use a new layer of asphalt.”

Staff I spoke with over the phone were friendly and helpful. Only downside was internet or TV were down. Not the reason I came to Tahoe, but in 2026 those feel like basic amenities. “We continue to come back to the Timber Lodge because the facility and location are outstanding as well as all the staff that works here. Not much to complain about because it is clean, comfortable and well equipped both inside and outside the room. Couldn't ask for a more enjoyable experience in South Shore. Oh, and the restaurants are great also and easy walking distance. ”
