âThis is a stunning historic property thatâs been beautifully renovated. Love the rooftop pool and the gorgeous dining room/common area/co-working space. I also enjoyed the little perks â the daily dining credit, the free tickets to the Grammy Museum. This is definitely one of the finer options in DTLA â stylish and elegant without being so trendy that it attracts the influencer hoards. This was a very quiet, peaceful, perfect stay!â

However, the reason behind booking the hotel was because it has a nice pool, and it was 75-80 degrees outside. Now that was closedâŠ.
Then the restaurants on level 8 was closed mon-tuesdays. The rooftop and the AC have the same menu. Got a bit boring.â

âWould be a nice place for an extended stay with friends for sure. Street parking is definitely hard though so be ready for that. Rooms are very nice and itâs perfect walking distance to BMO stadium so you donât have to pay outrageous parking fees. Label your name on your food inside the fridge as well or put it all in a big bag.â
âSmooth with parking under the hotel. It feels like a rough neighborhood and it doesnât feel safe to walk in the surroundings. But well inside the hotel, the staff is caretaking and friendly. The ice machine drove my brother nuts in the middle of the night and they have to do something about the carpet in the hallway because it smells like cat*iss. The breakfast needs som cheese and ham and perhaps som greens to comply with the term âcontinental breakfastââ

"Quite expensive but we had a really nice stay so it was worth it. On our long trip thru cali this was the only hotel who lived up to the expectations. Close to the arena otherwise not much to do or see downtown LA imo. Wouldve loved to stay for more days!"
"Really nice hotel but canât really see why anyone would like to stay in this part of LA unless your doing business in downtown or have friends to visit there like I had. Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents. The homeless people are nice and I never felt threatened but look ahead where you are going on the streets and donât look down into your phone.
Single room with a skyview at almost the top but a 13 floor building wonât give so much skyview at all in downtown LA.
Some reviewers here have praised the shower, I looked into my shower and thought thatâs just a regular shower head but OMG that water pressure was superb!
So I am still recommending this hotel for anyone having a purpose to visit downtown LA (not just random touristing of LA) or a romantic getaway where you want to stay in and old fashioned hotel, enjoy the rooftop bar and going by taxi to a restaurant at the evening when it is dark outside (avoid walking when it is dark!).
The tiles in the bathrooms of my single room was really beautiful and the bed just perfect.
So this hotel canât do much about its surroundings but the historic elevators could get some more love by hotel management.
