One of my favourite corners of our world. Rarely have I seen something this beautiful. (We were heading to Ölgii in Mongolia and were close to the border crossing.) #blue #OnTheRoad Happy New Year! P.S. How did we get from Northern Kazakhstan to Western Mongolia? https://bit.ly/2UnvraV

New place in Kemerovo
#Adventure Contest Sacred shaman poles on Olkhon Island, called the heart of Lake Baikal. The Shaman Rock is one of the nine most holy places in Asia. 13 totem poles stand tall at the entrance, guarding the sacred rock, representing the 13 deities of Olkhon and bearing colorful ribbons, known as ‘Khadag’, placed by pilgrims. The five colors symbolize different aspects of the environment. Blue for the eternal sky, green for the earth, yellow for religion, red for fire, white for milk.
