“It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. Didn’t know that until the day we left...

“This was our second time staying here we returned because we loved it the first time! It’s a quaint comfortable cozy cabin very clean and Becky is a wonderful host! We didn't ski so I can’t speak to that it wouldn’t let me complete this review so I gave it 3 stars. It’s also a great location looking forward to going back! ”

“The apartment had plenty of space for us and had everything we needed for our short stay. Oddly, I never received the "usual" emails from Vrbo with arrival instructions, etc, I contacted the host directly for instructions. He was very helpful and responded quickly. We were pleased to find everything clean and tidy. There were a couple of minor things that need attention, which I am sure will be taken care of. It was evident that things were cared for and in good order there. One thing to know...

“Our group came to Portage to snowmobile and explore the trail system in this area. I chose the Lakehouse cause the pictures were sunny, warm and welcoming. The cabin was well stocked, clean, and comfortable...hot shower were a plus. We enjoyed our stay and would come back. Mary the host was very helpful.”

“A beautiful cottage set in a wooded camp on Portage Lake. We kayaked and canoed. Very rustic, but super comfortable. Washer/dryer was a bonus! Hiked up Hedgehog Mountain, drove on to Fort Kent. Grilled some fish and relaxed on the wonderful covered patio. ”
