We enjoyed kayaking, going for a boat ride with the owner, Gary, and just walking around the village.Peggy stayed in touch with me throughout the time before our visit as well as during the visit even though she was not able to be there for the weekend. “This location is in the shaw building and is right next door to the Howard theater. It was easy for uber/lyft to find and is convenient to get to/from the airport and other places in DC. The apartment was SPACIOUS!!! 2 bedrooms and 2 baths but the open living room/kitchen concept was nice. There was a washer/dryer and plenty of dishes to use. “I was very disappointed with this VRBO apartment, especially for two older adults. The space is incredibly cramped and the VRBO pictures don't accurately represent the actual layout. For instance, there's a comfortable-looking chair in the pictures that doesn't exist in the apartment. The bed is placed in a small alcove, making it difficult to access, especially for older adults.The bathroom is equally small, as is the shower. “This was our first time in Washington and I would caution everyone to avoid NW if possible. Was convenient to the DC Streetcar however the unit is located almost directly over a liquor store and the walk to it was dicey. I wasn't aware but apparently pot is legal and used openly in public. Would not have brought the kids had I been warned. The unit itself was TINY. We felt pretty safe being on the 3rd floor but it was quite noisy from the traffic and late night partiers across the street....
