The property is ideally situated to walk to the beach, train station and town. We arrived by train and had a 10 minute walk. The property is described as no.1, it is actually called Lisa's Beach Pad (not in the property details) with no reference to no. 1 on the door. We ended up calling the host to confirm this was the right apartment. The apartment smelt a bit musty and the decor is in need of some tlc. As far as accommodation went it is ideal for a couple or 3 people. Everything is there that you need. Unfortunately the apartment had not been cleaned properly. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and rubbish under the coffee table. The wall by the rubbish bin was stained with "spills'. The light bulb in the single room constantly flickered and we could not find a spare. We had no hot water and it turned out the emmersion had been switched off. We had to hunt for the tv remote and eventually found it down the back of the tv stand. None of this ruined our holiday, but having rented quite a few properties over the years this one fell below the standard you would expect. We contacted the host, who was apologetic and arranged a partial refund. We were advised feedback would be given to housekeeping and maintenance would deal with the paintwork and light bulb. Would be interesting to know if this is done before the next occupants arrive! St Ives is lovely. So much to see and the beaches are amazing. As we were on foot we didn't venture far afield but didnt need to!
