“Clean, well presented ”

“The cottage had been beautifully renovated and was located centrally in the old district of town. A couple of small things would have improved the stay-the stairs to the second storey were steep and a bannister rail would have been appreciated, several basic supply items were lacking- no tea bags or fire lighters to light the kindling and wood supplied, and the heating automatically turned off after short periods and not all heaters appeared to be working. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.”

“Well equipped, comfortable beds, quiet location. Very warm welcome and problems dealt with efficiently and pleasantly. Could not have asked for more.”

“The property was well presented had all the pots and pans and equipment needed for a girls weekend! (Especially a bottle opener 😉) host was attentive, friendly and allowed us to view her other properties. Thank you Angie. We will be back”

“Had a very nice weekend break at the old forge cottage good location nicely equipped and clean Would return Only downside was young men in the river at bottom of the garden using bad language not good when you have grandkids with you but nothing to do with the cottage though ”

“We were attending a wedding in Guisborough and the owner very kindly let us leave our bags at the property before check in time. The place was ideally located in the centre and was lovely and clean, comfortable and well equipped. I would definately recommend this property. ”

“It was ok for a one night stop over, which is fine if that’s all you want. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t fault Angie as a host, very approachable. But there is a lack of information about the units that don’t tell you that there is literally just a door between adjoining rooms, and like a previous review noted, very little sound privacy between you and what could be other guests, luckily for us there were no other guests either side of us the night we stayed.”

“Good as a base for the surrounding areas. Quirky, could do with a refresh, but otherwise very accommodating host and the pub next door does good food & beers”
